Where I work the company's internal web site always runs an April Fool's joke. Last year the top story on the site was about the new dress code to be instituted. I knew right off it was a joke, in a company where the CEO shows up every day in jeans and sweatshirt and where anything from shorts to multiple piercings are common. Sure enough, when we clicked on the link puporting to show "proper dress", we got the April Fool's message.
This year, though, was great. The story was on how starting Earth Day, cafeterias would serve only vegetarian organic food (probably a lot of people think that's not such a bad idea). Complete with photos of vegetarian dishes and quotes about the health benefit. The link was on "sample menus". Not only did we get the April Fool's message, we also got a notice, no joke, that the whole company would get free lunch that day.
I'd packed a lunch but figured it'd keep overnight in the refrigerator. Got salad and chicken quesadillas and fruit - thought about the custom pizzas but the pizza line was a mile long.
Can't beat the price.
