For the first time in 2 years Roy won't have that pesky Miller getting in his way. He'll finally be able to show all of us that indeed his way is the better way. Roy knows that if the Blazers win by 20pts Nate will have no choice but to finally bench Miller and have him lead the 2nd unit.

You know 2 years ago I didn't think that was a bad idea. With this version of Roy, I am not so sure.

According to Roy, this should be his game of the year. He wants the ball, he's got the ball. Him and Nate should thrive tonight.

ahahaha! I love Brandon Roy, but if it takes him flopping on his face yet again on the way to the hoop to realize he needs to support his team and not be the team than so be it.

Isn't it odd that my favorite player in the history of the NBA, frustrates me to no end?

This is the way I feel. Roy has been so hesitant to try and adapt his skills to the strengths of the players around him.

You know, I feel for Brandon Roy. It's got to be tough going from being one of the top 3 SGs in the league and one of the top 15 or so overall players to where he's at today. To have it happen in one year has to be a killer. That said, I don't think anybody here knows better than Brandon that he needs to adapt his game. It won't happen instantly, but I have no doubt that he will figure out a way to continue to contribute. I fail to understand the mentality of some of you here who slam the guy after what he's done for this franchise in his time in the league.

Quality post.

My thinking is that in addition, he's been hesitant and/or struggling to adapt his skills to the strengths and weaknesses of his body. Much of that will sort itself out in time. I just hope it sorts itself out before I'm completely bald from grabbing handfuls of hair and screaming, "MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!"

I'm really looking forward to Roy getting to the basket and then throwing a layup into the bottom of the rim. He will then scream for an imaginary foul that won't get whistled no matter how much he protests. Man, that's a sweet move.

With his 16PER, I'm not expecting much from this move.

It just means just as much or more ISO-ball.

If he wished to, Roy has the passing skills to average 10 assists a game.

His me-the-star mentality seems to discount the value of such a contribution.

He should be able in his present condition to match Old Man Nash stat-for-stat across the board.

Time to trade Miller, if this game was do or die for Roy. A must win without a true PG, and Mills filled in very well off of the bench. Roy went 20/5/5 on a bad shooting night, but still got to the line 9 times.

Thanks for the turmoil, 'Dre! Happy trails. :)

well lets just say tonight did not help millers case. and made things even harder for cho. even though roy shot 5-15 i thought that was the best he looked all year as far as moving and cutting until that last missed layup late in the 4th.

but yeah... roy really made a strong case hes better without miller. i know this isnt poular but i have said many times... mo williams is the perfect pg for roy and this team. get him and varejeo and its a massive upgrade over miller and cunningham.

I think his 5-15 tonight is a bit deceptive. He missed a few easy layups and got good lift on his jumper. He certainly looked more energized. (maybe he got his knee drained again.)

Kind of comes down to Miller for Mo Williams, doesn't it?

I love what Dre has done here but one thing that hasn't changed is he just not a great fit because he can't shoot.

mo will wont get to the line like miller but i think mo is realistic at this point.

it comes down to this...

miller will only be traded for an upgrade. not a salary dump like some think. imo mo is an upgrade cause he plays better next to roy. miller is a guy i will miss but in all honesty.... his personality or game has never fit here.

Pretty much. Mo Williams is the perfect guy to put next to Roy, just like he was the perfect fit next to LeBron. It's not a coincidence the Cavs won back-to-back 60+ games after they acquired Mo Williams.

i mean can you think of a more perfect situation then this trade? i mean its realistic cause you know the cavs are blowing it up, it fixes to MAJOR holes for us, and keeps us in playoffs while we lose an aging vet and likely hornets 1st rounder... maybe a few throw ins like eliot williams or johnson or babbit.

makes too much sense.

To have a vendetta against any player on the team. Its funny you have it against Miller. Dude's got the highest PER on the team.

Then again, your alter ego PapaG had a thing against Miller as well. It all makes sense now.

You guys are crazy that think Millers the problem. We aren't going to win with Roy playing the way he is right now. I suppose last year when we won all those games without Roy, he was the reason we weren't winning?

Not really an alter ego when they act exactly the same.

Miller was gone and Roy finished at the rim three times and was sent to the foul line 9 times to prevent him from getting there again. Roy is happier on the court with shooters around him to pass to. MARIS- Roy can't get assists without penetrating. He needs to get in the lane to either create for the bigs or dish out to the shooters. When he had Outlaw and Blake, he averaged nearly 6 assists per game. Tonight, with Miller out, he had 5 assists. With Miller in, Roy has the ball less and when he does have the ball, it's 4 on 5 since Miler can't shoot and that makes things much harder for Brandon. Miller for Mo would be awesome. It's a great fit on the court and he has a more happy go lucky attitude that would fit in nicely with the chemistry of the team. I can see Roy creating a bond with him. Miller's never even sat down and talked to Roy.

Roy passed with flying colors. Fun game to watch. First time I can say that in weeks.
