NOTE: the game time...........

LHP - C.C.Sabathia (3-2, 3.41 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Aaron Sanchez (4-1, 3.20 ERA)

Lineups to follow.......

Mark Texeira (neck) is scheduled to receive a cortisone shot as per Bryan Hoch.

Something tells me that if he were hitting better, his neck would be fine. Stop making excuses, man up & just admit that you suck.

...hasn't he done this sort of thing before? (sucking for 2 months or so and then claiming an injury)

He's already said he's been bad without mentioning any injury.
What do you we expect him to say or do?
He's well aware- or he SHOULD BE - aware of possibly being benched for not being good enough, and aside from not paying him, that would punish him enough. No player wants to be in that position amoung his peers.

This is where the mgr comes into play - unless he's a puppet for management.

Be a team player & sit his lame ass down for the sake of the team. And maybe his average wouldn't be so bad if he took advantage of the open left side that every team gives him.

^^^ I brought this up before too Rick, he doesn't even try to go the other way when the shift is on...he's a selfish player, period.

... But heaven forbid if somebody actually points out how bad some of these players are.

... and to a certain degree all coaches are puppets for the management.

Reliever Richard Bleier called up, Alex Rodriguez added to the Roster. Chasen Shreve and Rob Refsnyder sent down as per Jack Curry.

TODAY'S STARTING LINEUP.......

LF - Gardner (234)
CF - Hicks (205)
2B - Castro (265)
RF - Beltran (268)
DH - Rodriquez (194)
C - McCann (250)
3B - Headley (219)
SS - Gregorius (275)
1B - Romine (289)

GO YANKEES!!

Chasen Shreve has been placed on the 15 day DL with a shoulder issue as per Jack Curry.

Mark Teixeira will miss the next 3 games with Neck Spasms as per Jack Curry.

Tex has looked pathetic this year, swinging a foot over any curveball,.. maybe he needs to visit the Optometrist too ....

after all these years, still unable to hit to the opposite field ... how'd he ever make the Varsity...?

WTF-does Ref have to do to stay afloat on the Roster, play with "waders" on....

Chasen Shreve has been diagnosed with a Left Shoulder AC Joint Sprain as per Sweeny Murti.

Shreve needs to be traded if possible. The man absolutely stunk at the final months of last season extended into this one. Romine at first at least he can hit. No comment on "Bump". Cashman needs to find a team who will take him and say so long it's been good to know you. and pull a 1st baseman from somewhere. Note to Cashman, if you're going to harvest from other teams make sure you get some miracle grow to restore some prime life. Not confident with CC on the mound, even his pocket comb is not an ace. And the druggist is back, shit there goes the road trip.

...that's just it, Matts, he's perfect able to go the other way. He used to do it earlier in his career...now he's simply unwilling to go the other way.

...lol...I had forgotten about those combs. Back in the day a guy always kept a comb in his back pocket...and the Ace comb was the best.

...also used to place a strip of paper over the comb and kinda make a poor man's kazoo.

Rick still plays these Kazoo's.....

LMAO... :biglaugh:

Rock on, baby ! :irock::irock::irock:

...^^^
Too good, if only Rick could take lessons...

as for "Mr. Irrelevant" and the book long manifesto's of talking to 'em self- there is no hope, for some reason this flashback comes to mind like a boomerang...

...Matts, the video in post #19 is actually Rick before his sex change operation...he now prefers to be called Richelle. He sent me a picture awhile back wearing a peach colored camisole...pretty tasty stuff.

Good one Ron. :rotfl:

Note to Gregorius: making errors adds up for the other team. Your error opened up the flood for the pride of Vallejo California. The Big Man has enough of his own. And you stranded another runner this game. I think the Yankees should trade you but there wouldn't be any takers.

I'll go out on a limb and say there are some mgrs who "stand up" for their principals and for the good of the team more so than others....maybe Girardi believes leavng Tex in there on a regular basis is good for the team.
He obviously thinks the best route is playing Tex until he "finds himself".....don't know, haven't asked him.

The "Big Man" throwing a surprisingly good game 1 inning excepted. Where in the hell is the offense.

Maybe the Yanks can get some kind of mediocre journeyman minor leaguer for him.
Maybe the Yanks should just release him, have open tryouts with international free agents and AA-AAA farmhands- I believe this idea has previously been suggested.✔
Or maybe the Yanks should release him, move Castro over to SS and put Refsnyder at 2b- this too has been suggested.
