There you go Ron, your Christmas Eve entertainment.

...a little disappointed because their record could easily be so much better...but they've made big strides and are finally headed in the right direction.

...I'm more optimistic about the Raiders chances in the next 3 years than I am of the Yanx' chances.

...wait, does this make me a "2-teamer"?

The Black and Silver Empire shall return soon, I hope. One thing about being a NFL fan in the L.A. area really really sux, as the closest teams worth watching are both in the bay areas up north.

I can't flipping believe this fkng place hasn't done a damn thing to ensure an NFL Teams success, thus its all about College Football here, and damn it, L.A. deserves a team if not 2.....! IMO....

Al Davis where have you gone..........

...Al's Son, Mark is running things now and he seems to be as roguishly eccentric as his Father, so I hope that's a good sign...I have not been happy over all with reggie McKenzie as GM but to be fair, as bad as his earlier moves were, his more recent moves have been equally as good.

...and fwiw, I hope they can hammer out a way for the Raiders to stay in Oaktown...that is where their storied history began and is where their soul resides.

Exactly, when the Raiders were here in L.A. they seemed out of place in that huge over-sized Coliseum, where seats sat back so far, one had to bring binoculars when they were sitting at the field level, a Telescope for the back rows was necessary. Ntm- the Coliseum is in one of the worst neighborhoods in L.A. Just a mile north of South Central.......

"don't drink you juice while down in the hood"

I just want to know what Ron is cooking tonight.... I might have to make a road trip. :bgrin:

I cannot understand for the life of me why the NFL ignores
the LA area...........poor league management.

...I'll put the turkey breast on just before bed...injected with creole butter...175-180 degrees for 10 hours...Annie will make the dressing...and I'll make the giblet gravy, ambrosia, baked sweet taters, etc.,and of course real cranberry sauce,(none of that jellied crap in the can)...Annie made a pecan pie and a bunch of sweets.

...I've already put on some weight, and I'm up to 217...210 is ideal for me, so after the Holidays I gotta cut back on the food and get ready for Spring Training..

Let me know what time everything will be served because it's an 8 hour drive.

Ribeyes tonight here in Palm Desert, last night was enchilada casserole.... Feliz Navidad!

Enchilada casserole sounds delicious. I love Mexican food and have a ton of recipes. I have to look that one up, my man is from Guatemala so Feliz Navidad to you too!!

I hate driving, are you going to have a sandwich ready for me??? If so i'm on my way lol..... I had ham and scalloped potatoes tonight and would really love some turkey which happens to be my favorite. :hungry:

...to avoid the Holiday traffic, last week we drove down to check on my house in Sanford and to see Mom who lives just south of there in Winter Springs...it's right at 325 miles away away but we made good time on the way down...(a little over 5 hours)...but on the way back it was madness...we tried to take an alternate route back which involved I-4 and 441 and I-75...took 6 1/2 hours to get back...I was born in Jax and grew up near Orlando but things were so different back then...no way I could live in Florida anymore.
...I'm guessing you can get used to it after awhile but I've been spoiled by living out in the country for so long now. Hell, we're miles from the nearest gas station/convenient store, which I suppose actually makes it, well, an "inconvenience store".

Tote, have you ever seen "Noche Buena" beer, a Holiday beer made by Dos Equis. Once only available on the Border-towns, then came as far north as Bakersfield, Phoenix for AZ, but hasn't been available this far north in 20 yrs......

Eccentric is a good thing, for the Raider Nation, like ya' noted Al was the translation of the word "eccentric", and Oakland, the "Black Hole" so very historical a place, it should always remain home of the Silver and Black Empire........home of so many incredible moments, from the Heidi Bowl, to a long line of Greats. I miss seeing Howie Long in the freezing cold, with Anaconda Arms, shoving line men out of His way,....

that much noted, is just scraping the tip of Oaklawn's epic history of "Just Win Baby".......

Heard of it...never seen it. But frankly I'm not one to shop for beer being more if a whino.

:biglaugh:

...^^^

Why is it Wine from Spain has an after taste of Toe Jams....?

While Wine from the Rhein taste mighty fine, .....!

Robert Mondavi Woodbridge Cabernet for me and occasionally Champagne, and I drink EVERY night so I guess I'm a wino too. My man prefers weed. :biglaugh:

Wine & port, otherwise cocktails for the season/occasion.

Fall/winter signature cocktail is "The Lion and the Lamb".

Boyd&Boyd potatoes vodka (very smooth)
Ferrand Dry curacao
St. Elizabeth allspice dram
2:1 simple syrup or agave syrup
Fresh lime juice
Angostura bitters

...^^^ wow, I haven't heard anyone even mentioning "bitters" since I was in the bar biz.

...among other things, we used to use it in some sort of indigestion concoction...seemed to work too.
