His agent says he is in surgery with multiple leg injuries.

Speed? Distracted driving? Drugs?

The weather looks clear, the road straight.

Unfortunately, if it's major leg surgeries... that may put him out for years. He may be done for good.

Or at least until the senior tour.

I hope Tiger isn't hooked on pain killers like Prince was...he's had a lot of surgeries ...seems he nodded out crossing traffic by the look of the accident...just veered across several lanes and flipped over...crushed both legs....really sucks. Hope he comes out of it ok

1:47 PM PT -- Oliver Konteh, a member of the crew working on the TV show "Grown-ish" recounted to us on video what the director said about Tiger nearly hitting his car just before 7 AM.

TMZ has learned ... Tiger was staying at a hotel where a major network television show was being shot. Production sources tell TMZ, when the director arrived just before 7 AM, Tiger was driving his SUV very fast as he was leaving the property and almost hit the director's car. The director was shaken enough to tell production staff about it after he parked.

A crew member who saw Tiger as he got in his SUV at the hotel tells TMZ, once Tiger got in his vehicle, there was a delay in driving off -- we're told his SUV was blocked by another car that was loading luggage -- and he appeared "agitated and impatient." The crew member says once the delay was over, Tiger "took off fast."

Golf Digest says Tiger was scheduled to arrive at Riviera Golf Course at 7:30 AM PT for a shoot with Drew Brees -- Tiger was going to give him lessons. The issue is Riviera is at least an hour drive from the resort where Tiger was staying. You get the picture ... if he was heading out just before 7 AM, then he knew he was running late.

...

Deputy Carlos Gonzalez — the first person to arrive at the crash scene — says Tiger is lucky to be alive after such a horrific crash.

During a news conference moments ago, Deputy Gonzalez says it was obvious Tiger was badly injured — so he focused on keeping the golfer calm until paramedics arrived.

Tiger was unable to stand on his own due to the serious injuries suffered in the crash — and was put on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance.

Tiger was wearing a seatbelt during the crash — and officials believe it might have saved his life.

Deputy Gonzalez says Tiger was lucid and could speak at the crash scene — and did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or any other substance.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva noted there was “no effort to draw blood at the hospital.”

Officials also say it was a quick-thinking neighbor who called 911 — which allowed responders to race to the scene and treat Tiger in a timely manner.

There’s more ... officials also noted the area where Tiger crashed is a “trouble spot” for traffic collisions — with Deputy Gonzalez noting there have been fatalities in that spot in the past

Shattered ankle. Two leg fractures, one compound

What Sly posted is what I figured. He was running late and speeding. Sounds like a road that is obviously not conducive for high rates of speed. I hope he fully recovers, but this might shut the door on him for any more PGA Tour wins.

Tiger woods is 45. Earliest he may come back is what? Probably 48 or 49? Remember how long it took for him to even come back from his back stuff?

Senior PGA starts at 50.

Back injuries can be a lot trickier to deal with. That said, I have no idea how extensive his ankle/leg injuries are and whether it's the type of thing that never heals right or if it's like a lot of bone injuries that heal cleanly.

Hopefully he can come back and compete at a high level, but considering it was already such a struggle for him to remain anywhere near the top, this could well be the finisher.

Very true on the back injuries.

But yeah, I feel it's the end of any tiger woods masterpieces... and its more because of time than anything.

Didn’t he get in trouble for something drinking related awhile back or am I just confusing that with his infedelities?

Yeah, he was arrested for DUI back in 2017. Had 5 different drugs in his system including hydrocodone, hydromorphone, Xanax, Ambien, and Marijuana. That's two pain killers, an anxiety drug, a sleeping drug, and weed.

That's more flying than driving under the influence.
