Drafted some guys, and traded some guys. Acquired a couple draft picks in those trades. The Timbers picked up 5-6 young inexpensive players with upside. Drafted the "rights" of two players (Bornstein, Findley) who played on the US's most recent World Cup team. These two guys won't play for the Timbers next season, but will have value down the road when they return from overseas. They will either have to play for the Timbers or the Timbers will get compensation for their rights. Robbie Findley is a small possibility for next season, but it's likely he'll be in Europe the next few years.

Findley was somewhat disappointing during the World Cup, but I imagine he'd be good for the Timbers.

I HATE Findley for the Nats, but he's a pretty good MLS Player.

I'd say our best players aren't on the roster yet. The Timbers drafted two players (Anthony Wallace, Dax McCarty) who started in the recent MLS championship game, but traded them both for draft picks, a younger cheaper player, and "allocation money". Allocation money in MLS allows teams to buy down their salary cap number.
Word is that a few new attacking players are on the way, but no one on the Timbers current roster is a star.

A four-year veteran, Wallace, 21, joins the Timbers after playing the second half of the 2010 season with the Colorado Rapids following a July trade from FC Dallas. The having played his entire MLS career in Dallas since being acquired by the club in the 1st round, 9th overall pick, in the 2007 SuperDraft as a Generation adidas player. Wallace has appeared in 15 games, with 11 starts, with Dallas playing in 842 minutes. He played in two games in 2010 for FCD totaling 16 minutes. On the international level, Wallace played for the United States U-17 and U-18 teams and was a member of the U.S. U-20 squad that participated in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.

He then signed with the Crew in 2007, for whom he has scored five goals and added one assist in 44 career matches (36 starts).
