...tonight's game

...keys to the game;

1. Tanaka with 2 strikes on the batter is extremely tough with that splitter of his, but the Astros are a VERY aggressive free swinging offense and will be hacking early in the count. So needless to say, Tanaka must be very careful early in the count. If he misses over the plate, the Houston hitters will pounce on those fat pitches.
...2 first pitch HRs did the Yanx in.

2. Houston has been unbeatable at home but they also cannot win on the road...on the other side of the coin, the Yanx are at home but playing at home has not been kind to them lately...so the HFA is out the window, IMO.
...playing at home has definitely not been kind to the Yanx.

3. If the Yanx have the lead after 6 innings you have to like their chances...conversely, if Houston is leading late, their BP is by no means as strong as the Yanx BP.
...Yanx' BP again proved its worth...but unfortunately without a lead.

4. If McCann starts, considering how badly he's struggled at bat lately, he needs to swallow his pride and take the ball the other way vs the shift...in fact, against Keuchel, ALL of the Yankee LHed hitters need to take the same approach.
...McCann, as well as other selfish Yanx hitters had the opportunity to easily beat the shift, but refused to do so...same old story.

...and fwiw, if the Yanx don't win tonight, I'll be pulling for the Cubs.

...well, regretfully, it looks like I'll be pulling for the Cubs...sigh.

Great call and insight 59.....:tiphat::notworthy2:

especially after my Diatribe, analysis of playing in Houston....:wacko:

Wouldn't if be fkng incredible if the Cubs won a W.S......!!!

To say that its long overdue would be an understatement.

They just need to make sure that Steve Bartman isn't anywhere near the stadium.

Rick, (and anyone else) - did you ever see that 1 hour ESPN documentary on this subject: "Catching Hell?"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1908471/reviews?ref_=tt_ov_rt

On this WebSite, the '9 User Reviews' are helpful, but no one other than the Doc, reveals there were another dozen+ fans all trying to do the same thing. In fact, the ball was bouncing off these several other Fans hands as much to blame.

"This film not only manages to shed tons of new details on the incident, but also manages to have the viewer walk away wanting to buy Steve Bartman a beer and pat him on the back, instead of crucifying him."

"Who did the Cubs fans blame? The shortstop who booted an easy double-play ball in the inning? The pitchers who gave up all the runs? Nooooo. They blamed Bartman, a nerdy-looking young man who just there rooting for his beloved Cubs like everyone else."

the Doc has other camera angles, not shown during the game, which are revealing and exposing the other dozen fans around Steve, who were just as much to blame as bartman.
