Staal and Girardi shouldn't both have that designation, just one. 5 is overkill when you add in Nash now. Are they trying to be like the Yankees who hand out retired numbers to everyone?

I agree it just becomes silly at this point. This is not a football team. A Captain and two assistant captains is all you need.

One thing about the NHL, a player sooner or later will be traded to another team. Patience. Lol
