Top 5 best and worst moves

List what you think were the top 5 best moves they made in their tenure here.</p>

Best</p>

1) Traded Marbury for Jason Kidd</p>

Changed the franchise completely. </p>

2) Traded Eddie Griffin for RJ, Collins and Armstrong</p>

Griffin is out of the league, enough said. Also reports were that Houston offered to swap picks the following draft but no way Thorn would have guessed they would have gotten the 1st overall pick. As for the Arenas rumor, well the Nets would have lost him anyway. Byron played Anthony Johnson less than 10mpg that season and how were the Nets going to keep Arenas and Kidd?</p>

3) Traded for Vince Carter</p>

Say what you want, the Nets got a top talent for nothing even if the Nets are stuck in the middle.</p>

4) Promoted and hired L. Frank.</p>

I was really down on Frank but he maintained a severely flawed teamed together and into the 2nd round.</p>

5) Traded K-Mart for Picks</p>

At the time this was #1 in the worst category. Now, well Thorn managed to swindle the thief. </p>

1) Traded KVH for Mutombo</p>

A panic move that probably cost the Nets the title. He did have his hand forced by Kidd and Martin though.</p>

2) Traded Korver for cash</p>

3pt specalist, nice one Rod.</p>

3) Passed on Danny Granger for Antoing Wright</p>

I like Wright but I would have loved Granger.</p>

4) Signed Jeff McInnis</p>

Held the Nets captive for 2 seasons, 3 if you count the buyout they will have to give Bernard Robinson.</p>

5)Used a trade exemption on Elden Campbell for a bluff</p>

I had high hopes for those trade exempts but nothing ever came out of them. </p>

KVH for Deke was a good move and should be in the top 5. Buying out Deke because Scott didn't know how to use him is the #2 worst move</p>

At the time KVH was probably a top 10 SF in the league and was in his prime, 28 years old. He was traded for an aging center about to turn 35. The Nets could have done a lot better.</p>

I don't think Rogers was a bad signing, yeah he sucked but he wasn't completely useless. I forgot Childs. </p>

RJ had already proved that he was a much better fit for the team than KVH and the Nets had just been destroyed in the finals because they couldn't defend the paint at all against Shaq. Deke at least gave the Nets a chance against the Lakers. If you look at what Deke contributed this past season, it is easy to see that 4/5 years ago he could contribute plenty to the team.</p>

KVH was traded for a higher ranked Center relative to were he was ranked as a SF.</p>

Van Horn would have given the Nets the depth they lacked the following season against the Spurs. </p>

Deke did help the Nets in the few minutes he played in the finals against the Spurs. Again, Scott didn't know how to use him.</p>

Do you really believe KVH would have been happy being a 20-25 minute role player on the Nets?</p>

You're forgetting that ToddMac was traded(back)to Philadelphia, and unfortunately for him he had to retire because of his health issues.</p>

ToddMac and KVH are out of the league. Deke is still contributing to Houston. I agree that if Byron would have used him against Duncanand/or Robinsonwe would have had a much better shot.And if KVH didn'tget traded you have to wonder how long it would have taken for RJ to take over the starting SF spot.

Yes, 15 & 7 combo forwards that have seen their numbers go down each season since their second season have so much trade value.</p>

RJ's playoff averages in 2002-2003 were better than KVH's in 2001-2002? Talking about disappearing in the later rounds of the playoffs doesn't help your case either </p>
