The Austin Toros defeated the Texas Legends 120-118 Thursday night at Cedar Park Center in a Central Texas show down. Both teams had at least five players score in double digits and the Legends Joe Alexander led all scorers with 38 points and seven rebounds.

The Toros and the Legends were even through the first quarter, shooting 37 percent and 46 percent from the field comparatively. With a quarter that saw three lead changes and three ties, the Toros managed to take a one-point advantage at the end of the first. The Toros stretched their lead to ten midway through the second quarter, but Joe Alexander and Antonio Daniels kept the Legends close by combining to score 19 second quarter points. However, the Toros bench outscored that of the Legends 10-2 and the Toros ended the half ahead 59-53.

The Legends came out strong in the third quarter by completing 5 of 5 from beyond the arch. Alexander led the way for the Legends with ten points in the third quarter. The Toros responded to the Legends charge by going inside to their big men as Marcus Cousin and Eric Boateng combined for 14 third quarter points that helped the Toros maintain their lead.

The pace of play picked up in the fourth as the Legends fought hard to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Toros kept the Legends at bay until an Antonio Daniels's three pointer tied the game at 103 with 2:57 left in the fourth. The Toros quickly responded with a Coleman three-point play, recapturing the lead. With 46.6 seconds left to play, Carldell "Squeaky" Johnson made a 15-foot runner to give the Toros a 110-106 lead. This lead proved to be too much for the Legends to overcome and the Toros walked away with a 120-118 victory.

The Toros had six players in double digit scoring led by Aubrey Coleman (23) and Marcus Cousin (22). Cousin added 11 rebounds to his 22 points to record his 18th double-double of the season. Toros Kevin Palmer also recorded a double-double contributing 20 points and 10 rebounds. Justin Dentmon scored 22 points and six rebounds for the Legends. Antonio Daniels added 18 points to the Legends score, recording a double-double with 11 assists. Sean Williams matched his season high of seven blocked shots.

The Austin Toros (22-27) and the Texas Legends (23-26) will face off again on Saturday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Center. Toros will wear green jerseys during their "Go Green" game. The 2011 Dennis Johnson Memorial High School All-Star games begin at 3:00 p.m. Individual and group tickets for the Toros' final game of the season are available by calling (512) 236-8333, visiting austintoros.com or ticketmaster.com.
