Assuming these players/picks are available which would you least be upset trading the 3rd pick for? Understanding We’ve most likely be sending Ant out in the trade for salary purposes

I'd be fine with any of the options.
I guess the big question is what else is going out vs coming back.

But from a generic 'headline' view, any of the options would be acceptable.

You need to correct to Siakam. The poll is cool but too vague. If we could get Franz Wagner , the 6th & 11th pick, i would have voted for that. I voted for Pascal Siakam because he's All NBA. But i like Bridges just as much. And Zion is intriguing.

Big No Dog on KAT.

I kept it simple because there are way too many variations. This is more about 1 player for 3rd and Simon’s (salary purposes).

Zion is interesting to me because he’s the only player on this list that immediately makes us a legitimate contender…

If he’s ever healthy.

Siakam seems like he’ll make us a contender for consistent first or second round and out appearances… and he could leave after a year.

KAT is meh.

Bridges has a good contract and potential… but really don’t see him raising the ceiling like Zion or Siakam.

So I guess I’d only be unhappy with KAT or Orlando options as presented.

Only if it’s for Zion.

As long as he passes a thorough physical — none of those other options even come close.

His contract pushes him to #1 for me. Having a near all star making less than 25 mil is incredible value.

Money wise, we could theoretically acquire him for Nurk + Little + 3 + 23, leaving Ant available for other trades. Doubt BK would do that, but still.

He's basically the only guy we can get and STILL make other bigger money moves. That's why my preference is to just keep the pick if we can't get Bridges/Claxton. Because it allows you to make bigger money moves.

Look at Denver, literally on game day they traded for a pick because they know they're going to lose some vets and they have to find some cheap players on rookie contracts.

1. Bridges
2. Zion
3. Orlando
4. Siakam
5. KAT

Zion is tough - if I was the team with much more information; I felt good about his conditioning and commitment I'd put him #1. If those same inquires looked bad I could put him at the bottom of the list. Its a big red flag if he is available though as I'd assume New Orleans has the most intel - so if they want to move on thats a very bad indication.

Bridges I'd hope for more in return than Ant/#3, it would be great if we can get Claxton - but overall its hard to not do any deal for Bridges. Can work good if we win with Dame or rebuild with Sharpe.

Orlando I'd probably lean toward more if I were the team and wanted Ausar or some player ranked a few spots lower. If we clearly prefer Scoot/Miller then don't overthink this and just take BPA. I have this at #3 more because I view options 4/5 as big losers.

Siakam won't get the team to contend, is a poor defensive fit with Grant, is too old, and is due a super max. Hard pass.

KAT I think actually has more upside than Siakam but I don't like the probability of that upside hitting. I see him likely being overpaid here with no chance the team can contend.

I'll push back on this. Think he and Grant would be near perfect fits on both ends actually.

He's 29 and has a solid 4-5 yrs left in his prime given his low NBA mileage.

He is not supermax eligible as of now and won't be unless he makes an all nba team next year. And if he does... Then awesome! We just got a second all nba player on the team and should be winning.

Not possible to give an accurate answer unless the poll is truly a hypothetical #3 for <insert player>, which of course, isn't allowed given the salary cap situations.

I'd be most interested in the trade down with Orlando.
I'd be most wary of Zion (though excited about possibilities).
I'd be most certain of Dame's happiness with Bridges.
I'd be most dissatisfied by a trade for KAT.
I'd be most ambivalent about Siakam.

So in order of preference for me, it's:
Orlando (Simons not included)
Bridges
Siakam
Zion
KAT

I think I like the idea that we trade 3 and Nurk to Orlando for Franz, WCJ and 6. We take Walker with 6. We trade Ant, Nas and 23 for KAT. That would be some front court depth. Get a backup PG like Javon Carter with the TPMLE. Re-sign Jeremi and Matisse.

Dame, Shaedon, Franz, Jeremi, KAT, WCJ, Matisse, Walker, Carter... that's a fucking stacked 9 man rotation.

Pick 3 for Bridges is a big overpay. Ant and pick 3 for Bridges is a colossal overpay. I think we route Ant to Orlando. The Nets get Gary Harris, Nurk and three. Orlando just gets Ant. We get Bridges, Claxton and 11.

I'm thinking, at this point, the odds are pretty high Portland keeps that 3rd pick. I just don't think any good trade will pop up, and I don't think Cronin is dumb enough, or desperate enough. to sell the 3rd at a discount. I also don't believe Dame is pushing anywhere close to as hard as many have believed

I honestly think that a few good trades will pop up on draft night maybe even after we've made the pick and shown that we're serious about being willing to keep it. I think there is just a lot of posturing going on right now but maybe not and we end up drafting a ball dominant small guard. :banghead2:

I voted the invisible "other". The Bulls are an absolute mess with their salary cap. Paying max salary to jump onboard the Ball Bro's hype train from 4 years ago is nipping Chicago in the shins.

my "other" player is Demar DeRozen. Chicago will love the free rookie(s) from Portland, and a stumbling Center in Nurkic who can steer the Bulls tank towards a brighter young player horizon.

Blazers keep Ant
Cronin trades Sharpe and #3 and Nurkic, for DeRozan
Blazer fans will lose their collective minds.
But this is Lillard's team,
it does not belong to the customers.

Trading the pick for any of these listed players is FLAT OUT stupid.

To match salaries, you'd practically be giving the #3 in a deep draft (future All-Star) AND Simons (a 20ppg player) to acquire said player.

I understand, giving up Simons and 4 future 1sts but.....in the future, it's going to look bad for Portland once you look back in hindsight at the trade and see it was the Blazers losing a good point guard and a top pick in a generational draft.

The only trade that makes sense is trading down for more picks...but even then, the Magic's package of picks is way too low (you'd want Top 5 imo).

Franz, WCJ & 6 for 3 & Nurk? Yes. I already think that Franz/6 for 3 is unrealistic, and WCJ has more value than Nurk as well. Combine them both, it's DOA.

Yeah if I was Orlando I sure wouldn't do it just to move up 3 spots. Unless they are in love with Scoot and he actually falls to us. I have always thought that #11 was more realistic if we wanted Franz

In all reality, I seriously doubt Franz is on the table at all. He and Paolo are basically their franchise cornerstones right now. If they intend to trade up for Scoot, it would be to add him to them, not to replace of one of them. I could certainly see them offering WCJ/6 for 3, but I really don't think them dealing Franz is a possibility.

I thought asking if zero was too high a number for the 'chance' didn't need green font...the obvious sarcasm in my mind apparently wasn't obvious outside of it

Heh, thought you were referring to the offer, not the odds. Even I'm oblivious occasionally.
