...over $150m to make. Depp is over as a a real draw, outside of playing the character Jack Sparrow.

It just looked bad though. I don't think it had anything to do with Depp, it was just a bad movie. Of course, half of being a good actor is picking good movies.

Which reminds of the great movie Inception. Has anyone else besides me ever had a dream within a dream? I do once a month or so, and it freaks me out when I awake from the outer dream, because it seemed so real to me after the inner dream ended.

Was he ever really a draw OUTSIDE of Jack Sparrow?

Lone Ranger bombed, too. They really should have marketed that movie as a comedy, because with some editing, the material that was shot was hilarious if they wanted to go that way.

Finding Neverland and Blow both did decent box office, and much of it was based on his performances. Blow is one of my favorite movies.

I forgot to add that Dark Shadows was ripe shit, too. Three huge budgeted movies in a row starring Depp, and all three bombed. Welcome to Jim Carreyville!

Chocolat, Edward Scissorhands, and Bennie and Joon were all box office hits for him years ago.

Another movie that looked god awful and not because of Depp. I'm not a huge Depp fan, but it seems like he just has horrible decision makers around him.

I saw this today and I enjoyed it.

Depp wasn't in it as much as the character who played his wife.

The theater was near empty. But it was Easter Sunday and the shopping mall where the theater was at had most of the stores closed and was not very busy at all.

I thought they marketed it as an Inception-esque flick, and clearly it's not that brainy nor as clever.

Actually, the movie is closer to the recent movie, "Her." In fact, I heard someone say that the makers of this film were worried about looking like a "me too" sort of film because of that.

I haven't seen either, but I will say that Her didn't get anywhere near the marketing that this latest Depp flop received. There are commercials on TNT for it tonight during the games.

Well, this movie was really good Sci Fi, IMO. The problem is that it's very technical about supercomputing and other stuff that the common person (non-techie) may not appreciate.

I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone, but Depp wasn't on screen for most of the movie.

The gal who played his wife was on screen more than anyone else.

Blow was great, but Donnie Brasco was even better.

Did you see Her? I didn't think it was that good.
