I say yes. I remember when I was a kid, it was all hyped up, but people are scared to shoot it because they could get sued by the creator. Fuck him, tear that shit down and melt it into something new that is in the public domain.

The statue should've gone on waterfront, or had there been a way, put it in the Willamette.

It's a shame Portland wasn't smart when it came to the ugly thing, but it's not a surprise.

Post-modernism may be out of vogue, but it is a wonderful expression of the form. It should be renovated.

Commerical building products have made more technological leaps from 1990 to today than from the beginning of time to 1990. The building can be completely renovated and built to last for a century. The fenestration issue to me is just whining.

Even if the statue was on the waterfront or anywhere visible, the problem is the artist wants royalties and approval before any commercial use. TV show of Portland's waterfront if the statue is there? Have to pay the artist if Portlandia is there. Shots on National TV when the Blazers are playing? Nope. Gotta pay dat money.
