So that being said, I had to go back clear to the Milwaukee game to find a game where Portland had outrebounded their opponent and lost. (12 games.)

When Portland gets outrebounded or equaled in rebounding, they are 1 and 4.

Yea I think when Joel went down for a while everybody was picking it up and running off adrenaline. But I think smaller guys are starting to get worn down trying to hold down the fort. With the correlation, the guards have to start picking up more slack.

The way I look at it is this: Portland isn't stopping anybody, most teams are shooting over 50% against the Blazers these days. Portland is executing their offense better, that is keeping them in games. So the difference is going to be number of posessions, which is directly correlated to rebounds, and to a lesser extent, turnovers. That is where the games will be decided.

No, but I would be in favor of trading other players.

not a for a couple more wins this year.. lets be honest.. we arent winning the title this year. and Lopez would not a be a vital piece in us getting their in the future IMO. Unless of course we are looking for our own entertaining version of Mark Madsen.

I just don't think that Lopez would take that much to get. He has 19 DNP's in PHX first 35 games. If we could move a non consequential player at a position where we have multiple guys at that position, great, you pull the trigger. But if it is going to cost too much, I agree with you. But worth a Bayless type? Not really.

If all we are missing is a rebounder and we have all these PGs/SGsSFs either playing or being disgruntled about not trading . . . I think trading for a big man is a good idea.

Youth is great, but I'm tired of waiting and it's time to cash in one or two of those youngins. Don't we have three more of these youngins stashed away in Europe and a couple others at the end of the bench?

When the Blazers miss more shots than their opponents do, their opponents have more defensive rebounding opportunities--which are easier than offensive rebounding opportunities--thereby leading to the opponent winning the rebound battle. When the opponents miss more shots than the Blazers do, then the inverse is true.

I think this is yet another correlation-over-causation example. If we played better defense, we'd get more rebounds and win more games.

I agree Lopez wouldnt be that hard to get.. I was referring more to his trade earlier basically being Webster and Bayless for Lopez and Dudley.
