Just heard that phrase uttered by Curtis Granderson at his signing. Looking good in that clown suit Grandy. I thought Harold Reynolds was going to cry because the Yankees opted in other directions.

...yeah, I saw that too. When I first heard it, I was like "WHAT?!".

...also saw the interview with the Mariners' GM...he was talking out both sides of his mouth and when asked about the claims made by Wedge and others, he basically pled the 5th and refused to discuss it.

Did you see Rosenthal to his left, just like almost roll his eyes. And lets suppose You, Rick, Hammer, Vette, Yank55, Blue, Big Al, Messiah, Mm, and everyone that I have left off all worked for me but after leaving all went on the record complaining about my outstanding leadership skills, no one goes that far out of the way and on record unless it's true.

Old Ricky Skaggs tune:

"How can I stand up to my friends, and look 'em in the eye"

...yeah, Rosenthal was like "Can you believe this BS"?

he is hurt, I cant blame him, he basically got kicked to the curb by the Yankees as an afterthought

I remember when the Mets came into existence, Oh wait, no I don't, cause with an exception of a few years, they have never really been relevant....

^^^uhhh, the Yanx did not "kick him to the curb"...Granderson was extended a $14.1 Mil qualifying offer...he turned it down...so in reality he kicked the Yanx to the curb.

that was done to get a draft pick , did they really persue getting Grandy back, especially when signing Ellsbury?

...oh, I see. And what about the QOs given to Cano and Kuroda?...were those offers made just to get draft picks too?....spin it however you want, but Granderson had the option of accepting that QO, and the ultimate decision to leave the Yanx was his own.

...personally, I was scared shitless that Grandy would actually accept the QO...and when he turned it down, I was relieved. I don't recall a whole lot of posters who wanted him back. He's become a one dimensional "all or nothing" type hitter, a left handed version of Reynolds.

...and in other related news, it is expected that Queens will experience:

1) Significant more "breeze" this coming year, possibly via "swing-and-miss-wind-power" being generated around Citi Field.
2) The number of accidents experienced by old ladies crossing the street unaccompanied is expected to drop.
3) The number of "cat rescues' being performed by the NYFD is also expected to drop as well.

Great stuff, all true lol

wow...guy led the majors in homeruns for two years combined and yet you were scared he sign back for 14 million, yet are willing to throw over 20 million to a guy whos attributes are speed which may not be there for entire length of the contract.

Yes, the Yankees also put down qualifying offers to ensure draft pick compensation for both Kuroda and Cano whether they were going to sign long term or not.

and here is what he said "“A lot of the people I’ve met in New York have always said that true New Yorkers are Mets fans,” Granderson said during his introductory news conference. “I’m excited to get a chance to see them all out there.”

The former Yankee joined WFAN radio shortly after the presser.

“There’s a lot of Mets fans out there,” he told host Mike Francesa. “I see the hats all over the city and throughout the U.S. So I’m excited to get them back into the ballpark.”

Granderson said he felt he was “wanted and needed” by the Mets. He hopes the club can pass those vibes along to the Flushing faithful next season.

“Come out there in droves like I know you can,” Granderson told the fan base on WFAN. “Be very excited and eager about this upcoming season. It’s going to be fun to watch, we’re going to play hard out there for you, we’re going to be competitive and we’re going to go out there and win as many games as possible. … If you haven’t been (to Citi Field), definitely come out for the first time because you’ll definitely be back.”

...lmao...I already acknowledged his HR...(what part of "one dimensional all or nothing hitter" don't you understand?

...and no, the Yanx offered QOs in case they could not resign those players...they resigned Kuroda, wanted to resign Cano, and they were still considering Granderson.

...tell me, other than hitting the occassional HR, what else does he do on the Baseball field better than Elsbury?...do you seriously think they Yanx are not a better team with Elsbury in the OF than Granderson?...that's really what it comes down to.

...well, no kidding...and he felt the need to put emphasis on that. No one made him choose his words today and no one made him say that. I suppose you don't think Yankee fans should take that unnecessary comment as a direct jab at the Yankees?

is he 6 million better for the next 3 years...not sure

...what does that have to do with what I asked you?...I asked you, " other than hitting the occassional HR, what else does he do on the Baseball field better than Elsbury?...do you seriously think they Yanx are not a better team with Elsbury in the OF than Granderson?"

right now. no...if Ellsbury has a year like last year...OMG...he will feel the wrath

nope...the guy is going to a new team, new fans, he knows in reality that the Mets are second class in the city and wants to do something about it. he wants to drum up business for his NEW team.

...lol...yup, and Granderson is going to put the Mets over the top and push the Mets past the Yanx as the better team, right.

he is a definite upgrade for the Mets over what they had in their outfield for the longest time

...if Granderson has a year like last year, OMG, he will feel the wrath. ( .229 .317 .407 .723 ) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

yeah..after what two broken hand bones..and if he leads the NL in homers playing in Citi...then what?

...well, you're the one who cited "last year", not me. And if you seriously don't realize the difference between the RF fence in YS vs Citifield, you're lost. And if you don't realize he'll no longer be hitting in the middle of a stacked line up anymore, you're lost. And if you seriously believe he'll lead the NL in HRs, your delirious.

for a guy making over 20 million a year...yeah...that is unacceptable

...what the hell does salary have to do with it?...we're comparing players, not money....Jesus, stay on topic or let it go.

...why would he "feel the wrath" of Yankee fans with repeating the numbers he posted last year? (.298 .355 .426 .781 with 52 SBs) ...you make no sense.
