Mueller said plainly that the Russians attacked us. That was one of his big takeaways. And yet the president is doing nothing to stop it again. Doesn't that bother our Republican friends here? I sincerely can't figure that out. Invasion of the body snatchers maybe? This isn't the Russian-hating GOP I grew up with in Orange County.

What the hell are you talking about? Russia did help Trump's campaign. That's not trolling, that's a fact. What's not known is if Trump actively knew about it.

Actually the facts are that Russia's impact on the election was negligible. That has been proven. They may have tried, but they made no difference in the election results.

Not really the point is it?

A foreign power actively meddled in our election. The majority of states had their voting systems hacked. It doesn't matter if you personally like the results, we need to take steps to prevent this.

Actually that hasn't been proven as it can't be determined one way or the other how much influence. How can you determine how many people changed their mind due to bogus info being put out by the Russians?

If you accept that he admitted they did help him in this tweet then you should accept that he had nothing to do with it.

That's also in this tweet.

uh Putin admitted he helped trump in the election. Nobody cares what trump says except for his 30 percenters.

And the person who started the thread.

Weird. You can post three or four lines and be obviously wrong. That's talent.

What would you like to do?
You do know the Russians have be trying to influence our political thinking for at least 75 years?
Back in the early days, it was a full time job for the FBI to be busting Commies. Want to return to this
or do you have something more direct in mind?

My brother in law use to stand watchs in the SAC command aircraft that was airborne all the time. Perhaps we should return to those days. Have a SAC bomber force airborne ready to strike on command, ready to penetrate into the Russian air space with in 15 minutes in any 24 hours of the day.
Man those were the days!

Naw! Not very Trumpy. He ain't going to do it, no matter how high the pitch gets.

1.The extent of the Obama administration’s failure on Russia is breathtaking. TheMueller report flatly states that Russian interference efforts began in 2014, continued in 2015 and blossomed into a full-blown effort to meddle in the 2016 presidential election. The report found no evidence that the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia on election meddling, but substantial confirmation that the previous commander-in-chief failed to stop a hostile foreign power from invading our democracy. Why? Obama’s top priority was getting Russia into the Iranian nuclear deal, which explains why his administration turned a blind eye toward Russian electoral interference. Russian meddling is a mess of Obama’s making, and Trump should order immediate steps to use the Mueller report as a roadmap for stopping them in the future. When you consider that Obama failed to prosecute Julian Assange after his 2010 attack on America, and that he then went on to help Russia meddle in the 2016 election, Obama just looks horrible on this entire ordeal.

Obama knew about the Russians. Did nothing about it!

Well he did wind up the Three Cabs and their gang to go after Trump.
Funny, the Russian have been trying to influence this country for 75 years or more. This is the first time I can recall where one political party uses it as justification to use the forces of government to go after the other political candidate.

We have crossed a newly built bridge but there is no road over here!

I’m surprised you didn't mention Hillary’s emails. And what about Benghazi? I think she might have jaywalked last week too. Way more important than the president violating the constitution “to protect and defend”!

I didn't mention those things because they have no bearing on the Russian meddling issue. The fact remains that the meddling occurred under Obama's watch and he did squat to stop it. The equal fact that I consider Trump to be a piece of trash that I want removed from the White House as soon as humanly possible also has nothing to do with the failure of Obama to call out the Russians on their meddling. I suspect it had to do with wanting their cooperation on the Iran deal, but was also based on the supposition that there was no way a political novice and arrogant asshole like Trump could actually win the election. Oops.

If I were a judge, I think I would judge that the Russians have been more successful than they could have hope to be with an honest assessment in their projections. They have caused more turmoil and distention in this country than I have seen in my life time. The democrats and their supporter are now wound up to the point of totally abandoning the principals of our Republic. Everyone is obligated to signal virtue with posts and tweets of hate and disgust of the most recent winner of our election. The Russians won!

Can we all agree at least to stop calling this "meddling"? Meddling is what my mother in law does sometimes. This was an act of war, no less.

Lololololololol. Better buy some firewood before winter. They gonna turn off yo heat!

I think that's a bit over the top. You ready to unleash a military attack on the Russians in retaliation?

I also think that it's a bit disingenuous for Americans to act like we haven't "meddled" or "attacked" other countries in the past in an attempt to influence who gets the reigns of power.

I'm certainly not saying that we shouldn't try to stop it, to the extent that's possible in an era of open internet access, but we should do the best we can. Given the relative lack of effort that we've expended so far on making sure that our polling equipment and elections methods around the country are secure, I'm not going to hold my breath.

Or maybe he didn't want the announcement to be dismissed as partisan, so he tried to get McConnell (who had seen the intelligence) to make a joint statement or otherwise admit to the problem, but McConnell refused. Because McConnell puts party over country.

That has not been proven and cannot ever be proven (nor can the converse).

I have no doubt that multiple sleaze bags along the way could have done more to stop the Russians if they had been willing to put national interests above partisanship. Unfortunately, those kinds of principled folks are in woeful supply in DC.

I believe Hillary tossed her chewing gum on the sidewalk. Lock her up!

Nah, it's more important that we keep our right to bear arms against the British militia.
