Ms. Carroll accused Trump of having raped her. He said this was not true and she is a liar and besides too ugly. She sued for defamation because he said she is a liar. Trump's attorney William Barr moved the case to federal, very questionable legally, claiming that Trump's remarks about Ms. Carroll were within the scope of his duties and therefore he cannot be sued. Also, a judgment against him would be paid by we taxpayers. Now, no one is saying he was convicted of rape. The question is should the supposed attorney general be defending him in this case? If there is a civil judgment should we have to pay it?

I don't think that's accurate, or at least it's a bit premature

The DOJ (Barr-the-corrupt) has filed a motion with a federal judge to have the case moved from state court (NY) to a federal court. The judge has not even set any hearing on the filing yet. It's also possible, that the plaintiff can file against the move by the DOJ. Further, the State of NY can file a motion disputing the claim by the DOF

if the judge denies the request by the DOF, it's certain the DOJ will apppeal

in other words, this is all about delay and making the water even more muddier than it already is
