Donald Trump’s banking information has formally been turned over to Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor who is investigating whether the president’s campaign conspired with the Kremlin during the 2016 presidential election.

Deutsche Bank, the German bank that serves as Trump’s biggest lender, was forced to submit documents about its client relationship with the president and some of his family members, who are also Deutsche clients, after Mueller issued the bank with a subpoena for information, according to multiple media reports. The news was first reported by Handelsblatt, the German newspaper.

The revelation makes it clear that Mueller and his team are investigating the president’s finances. Trump’s son-in-law and White House adviser, Jared Kushner, is also a client.

NY Times interview in July:

SCHMIDT: Last thing, if Mueller was looking at your finances and your family finances, unrelated to Russia — is that a red line?

HABERMAN: Would that be a breach of what his actual charge is?

TRUMP: I would say yeah. I would say yes. By the way, I would say, I don't — I don't — I mean, it's possible there's a condo or something, so, you know, I sell a lot of condo units, and somebody from Russia buys a condo, who knows? I don’t make money from Russia. In fact, I put out a letter saying that I don't make — from one of the most highly respected law firms, accounting firms. I don't have buildings in Russia. They said I own buildings in Russia. I don't. They said I made money from Russia. I don't. It's not my thing. I don't, I don't do that. Over the years, I’ve looked at maybe doing a deal in Russia, but I never did one. Other than I held the Miss Universe pageant there eight, nine years [crosstalk].

SCHMIDT: But if he was outside that lane, would that mean he'd have to go?

[crosstalk]

HABERMAN: Would you consider——

TRUMP: No, I think that's a violation. Look, this is about Russia. So I think if he wants to go, my finances are extremely good, my company is an unbelievably successful company.

Mueller is getting fired. I bet 10 bucks the FBI knew everything illegal Trump has done for years because of their domestic spying.

They're reverse engineering this case the legit way because they can't say how they know.

Trump was thinking there's no way they could know, but they do.

Should have fired Mueller on day one.

I'm not saying he's innocent, I'm saying what I would have done if I were dirty.

Imagine this. The FBI is watching you through your smart tv camera or phone or whatever. They see you kill your wife.

Can't arrest you, but they know you did it.

Then they have to say they got an anonymous tip and build the case from the ground up. Knowing everything you did.

Muller isn't going anywhere. Firing Muller is the worst thing Trump can do right now. All hell would break loose. Trump is going down with his ship.

Trump is hosed. Firing Mueller is his only chance.

You know he's done something illegal even if it had nothing to do with Russia. His bank records are probably a who's who of shady international scumbags.

Trump has no chance. Muller has used legal channels to investigate him, and yeah he has Trumped cornered. Trump is done one way or the other.

Speaking of which, why the hell has he still not released his tax returns? Still under audit? WTF

Why the hell aren't people outraged over this?

I wonder if Muller already has those

The Streisand Effect of firing Mueller would just make it worse for him. No, he's boxed in now.

Once the tax bill is passed, the Republicans will have gotten all the useful distraction they need from their fool, and they'll do the business of removing him early in 2018 so he can't be a distraction in November; releasing that stress in May or June will make efforts to earn Democratic seats confused and dissipated. Republicans will retain all the pieces, and president Romney (who will replace Orrin Hatch in the hierarchy) will lead a republican senate and house for another two years. Once incumbent, he'll likely win a second term against whoever the Dems throw at him. The republicans will have won at every stage of the crisis: its creation, its demolition, and its replacement with a new status quo.

Can I have some of whatever you're taking?

It was a latte, but I had two extra shots because I've been sleeping 4 hours a night for the last six months.

Make no mistake; I hope none of that comes to pass... but I'm feeling really cynical today.

You have quite the imagination

If he fires Mueller, he tells the WHOLE country, "hey, I fucking did it".

Reelection chances = Nil.

Do you really think these Republicans want Donald Trump representing them? They get him out, they get Pence out (maybe they keep Pence if he ain't caught up in this Russia shit) then they CHOOSE who they want as President.

It's not a far fetched Idea and might be a smart one.

Edit: I don't see them choosing Romney tho... G'one with that one.

It's not that hard to imagine. Just they won't choose Romney or Hatch. :dunno:
I was going by the rumor that Romney would replace Hatch when Hatch retires. Watch whoever gets Hatch's old position in the hierarchy; that's who they want as president. Romney is practically centrist these days; I think it'd cause a lot of the liberal angst over 2018 and 2020 to evaporate.

He could have released 2016 - for sure they were not under audit as they had just been submitted.

No, there is a clear line of sucession. They can't choose anyone. It will probably be Ryan

Um... Do you know what you're talking about or are you just spouting? You say this because you run in Trump circles but no, as of June 74% of Americans wanted him to release that shit.
They're being asked about them. Of course if asked I'd say. YES, YES HE SHOULD RELEASE THEM.

Does anyone really care? Do they see Trump on tv and think of his taxes? No fucking way.

You don't know what you're talking about. You shouldn't speak for everyone when you're just speaking for yourself.
