Second quarter started and the Nets have a lineup of Armstrong, Wright, Nachbar, Allen, Magloire. If you watched the preseason it was obvious a lineup like this without a playmaker in Kidd or Carter was going to struggle offensively. And what happens? Raps go on a 6-0 run with Armstrong turning the ball over and then Magloire getting his shot blocked TWICE (even Collins was probably shaking his head). Then later on Nachbar gets his shot blocked. So Frank subs out Magloire and Allen for Boone and RJ. STILL no playmaker. Momentum shifting to Raptors and they are gaining more confidence on defense and offense. Delfino hits a jumper for a 8-0 start for the Raptors. Next Nets possession Boone turns it over. Calderon takes the steal for a fastbreak layup. 10-0 run for the Raptors in the first 3 minutes to start 2nd quarter. Argghhh... Raptors seemingly can't miss a jumper for the rest of the game and Nets don't know what hit them.

With Marcus Williams out, the Nets need Carter and Kidd to be on the floor for as much as possible to be playmakers- especially against good offensive teams.

I posted this in the Sportsticker thread, but I thought the turning point was when Magloire came in. Up till then, the Raps were struggling on offense. But he was way too slow on D and Bargnani began lighting it up when he subbed in. Shortly after, Calderon came in for TJ Ford and the rest was history.

When Magloire came in the game he was matched up against Nesterovic. Malik Allen was on Bargnani. The first quarter was just Nets go on run to take the lead and Raps go on run to close the game. Nets go on run to take the lead and Raps go on run to close the game and its 21-21 after the first quarter.

2nd quarter starts. No Big 3 in for the Nets and also no playmaker in the game. With no playmaker in the game Nets go scoreless with Raps going on a 10-0 run for the first 3 minutes to start the 2nd quarter. Mean while, momentum and confidence shift to Raps and eventually they get riducously hot with their jumpers which leads to lights out.
