Twist for the Post season

Had an interesting thought about the postseason, that might be interesting.

Postseason Plan

All 30 teams make playoffs
Bottom 7 teams from each conference placed in Lottery

1st Round (Single Loss elimination)
Conference Champs get a bye
Remaining 14 teams are seeded 1 vs 14, 2 vs 13, 3 vs 12, 4 vs 11, 5 vs 10, 6 vs 9, 7 vs 8
Lotto teams have Lottery Odds incentives for winning , AKA if they win their 1st round they get bonus lotto numbers

Round 2 (Best of 5)
Remaining teams are seeded based on Bracket Conference Champ would play winner of 7 vs 8

Conference Semis, Finals and NBA finals all best of 7

Just an idea that would be kind of fun.

Just an idea that would be kind of fun.

I've proposed something somewhat similar previously in anti-tanking threads, with a 3-day single-elimination tournament between the bottom 8 teams in each conference, with the winner getting both the 8 seed and a top-2 draft pick, leading into the standard playoff format we have today.

Okay, but then also get rid of the regular season.

So the most number of games a team would play is 24? That doesn't make sense.
