I just dont get it....it just seems so cheesy and pointless
 
Yeah, if you're using it for personal use. It's a great way to stay in touch with the news and teams that you don't truly follow, but you still want to know the latest about them.
 
I thought it was sorta like the part of facebook where u say what you are currently doing....why would you go for news and sports info on twitter??? ESPN and CNN (or something like that) would be better
 
Well, I'd rather see a quick update and link than a huge article. It's much easier to browse my 'friends' updates and click on the articles/blogs that interest me.

I mostly use it for soccer and Arsenal related things and I've already found a bunch of good bloggers so far.
 
I went to dinner over the weekend with some friends and I felt like an outcast since I don't use Twitter or Facebook. There wasn't much conversation at the dinner table everyone was on their iPhone or Blackberry texting and checking updates. One guy took a picture of the menu, the restaurant, and the dish he ordered to let everyone know where he was and what he was about to consume. Very surreal experience.

you get unverified news faster. some reporters tweet before they post it up (like an hour or two).

it'll be great on draft day.
 
I just invited a chick over to MySpace and Twittered all over her Facebook. She said it was Del.Icio.Us.

That's just creepy. I assume he used twitpic....major twitter abuse.

I can't stand twitter. The only reason I would ever go there is because its kinda cool when celebrities post what they are doing in there day to day lives... but then after reading 4 posts I realize how stupid it is. I would never read a friends twitter because no one does anything exciting enough to have one.

I just made a twitter account and told Sasha V. what to do and not do in tonights game...hope he reads it
 
Unfortunately, I had to learn a lot about Twitter. I wrote a column slamming it and the Twitterati hated me for it. I've since learned that for some folks, its a great social networking tool- they meet potential business partners, chat about areas of mutual concern, etc. It actually is very little of the "I'm eating an apple now" stuff. People post links to articles of interest for their group, etc.

That all said, I still don't like it much.
