Great news on a discouraging day. Tyner is elite and I respect it when these kids announce early and take stress and extra work off everyone.

Go Tyner! Welcome to Oregon - you'll love it!!

Very disappointing news. I still wish him luck though. Fortunately I think we'll be okay. Mannion is going to be great and we will be bac on top soon.

Check out this vid of De'Anthony Thomas in a 100 meter race. He initially accelerates ahead of everyone, and is in the lead for about half the way, then Farmer from USC pulls ahead and beats him with a time of 10.4.

Our new recruit(supposedly), Thomas Tyner has run sub 10.4. So this guy is even faster than DeAnthony Thomas. I'm not sure if his acceleration is as good, but he'll definitely fit in with Oregon. Imagine an offense of Bennett, Thomas, Tyner and Barner.

Don't forget Marshall. I'd really like to see us pick up a tall, athletic, fast WR though. Blackmon and Sumler aren't really tall guys.

Apparently Tyner knows how to sign vagina.

Tyner said, "Then I went down to the Sacramento State game ... and that wasn't too pretty. I ended up leaving at halftime. It seems like their sports are going down, and Oregon, I don't know, I just like it down there. It's awesome."

Tyner probably got a recruiting financial offer from one of Will Lyles affiliates or Mr. Phil Knight bought him some shoes.

not sure that I like the "Leaving at halftime" thing.

Yeah, that can be conceived like his work ethic might be "better keep me in the game" attitude. And if hes pulled he would get pissed.

Hi Nate! I'm using that famous picture of you snapped a few years ago at the CW as my avatar this week. Thanks!

Leaving at halftime? I think you're reading into that a bit much. He knows what he wants. He wasn't having fun. He wanted no part of a BCS team losing to a Sub-team.

He probably left to hit the gym and take care of studies.

I'd say his 3.3 GPA and coaches comments on his work ethic are a better gauge of his dedication.

Eh, I have around a 3.3 GPA at Portland State and I don't work that hard.

Three sport athlete too? "Around" a 3.3 gpa, huh? So, what's that, like a 2.8 - lol. I dunno about you, but my undergrad gpa is a 3.6 and I had to work my butt off for that.

I guess I was just imagining him leaving at halftime on a visit. If he was just there to take in the game on his own initiative (which could be possible living close) then whatever, you paid for your ticket. But if he was there on a visit, and being shown around by OSU students and coaches, and all that... you have some class and finish it out, and show respect to your hosts.

Back on top insinuates that you were once on top before. No Rose bowl since the 40's and the Fiesta 10 years ago

Tyner is too young to go on official visits. It was on his own dime.

3.33 at PSU
3.27 transferred from PCC
3.29 overall

It should be higher but I coast in a lot of my classes. School is easy. I just want to be done with my undergrad so I can move on to my masters.

Yes, 10.38 to be exact. To put that perspective, Jahvid Best ran a 10.31 to win the California 100m his senior year. And we all know how fast Best was.
