If you watched the video he handled it very well and was even laughing himself.

Yet I'll bet right now there is an intern in the White House studying video and compiling a list of all the countries that laughed, and another of the ones that did not.

Trump said it best -

Everyone at the U.N. watching Trump speak can't believe they used to consider U.S. a Superpower.

If you are going to steal from The Onion, you should at least give attribution, or quotation marks.

He began to tout his adminstration by saying it has done more than any administration in history. This was met by an outburst of laughs. Glad to see our country is respected. Thanks Trump

They laughed that he was making a stock campaign speech, patting himself on the back to get votes. But they are foreigners; they don't vote in American elections. The first rule of speeches is, know your audience (i.e. tailor your message to them). They laughed because he thought he was at the Iowa primary caucus or something.

I got to be honest I think the UN is a waist of time and money!

Yeah..I watched as well, poorly worded speech. You have to listen to more than a quip to understand what he was getting at, and he did handle it well.

...if he wasn't such a dolt, he would not have had to "handle it" at all.

Here is how I "handle" trump.

i watched the video before i heard the talk everywhere about people laughing, and watching it, it didnt occur to me that people were laughing at him. Just my opinion at the time i guess, but he seemed to go with it like he initiated the chuckle and it didnt seem contentious whatsoever.

...then why did Trump feel the need to be there only to be laughed at?
I don't know what do you think?

I know we've been paying more than our fair share over the years. At lest he set a lower amount going forward!

...not sure what that has to do with the UN being "a waste of time and money".

...the UN still has purpose.

Maybe so, then why do we have to pay more as a % than any other country?

Come on man, i wasn't claiming anything! Geez Louise
So contentious

...contentious?...it's a discussion, plain and simple. But this is about the 3rd time you've use this approach where you make a statement that I take issue with, and when I question you about it and we go back and forth a bit, you suddenly say you're "not in the mood" or some other similar response.

...sometimes people agree on certain topics, sometimes they don't, but nobody's been hurt or insulted...so there's really no reason to feel the way you do.

I was stating we still pay more as % to support the UN. Even after it was lowered to 25%.

...I understand that, and that's what I was responding to...Our country spends a lot of money on things and some may be highly questionable but IMO, the UN is not one of them...again, money aside, the UN "still has purpose".
