Drew Stafford....made 4 million off a 4 year deal originally with Buffalo. Has some size and is a right handed shot. Once scored 11 ppg with Buffalo.

Too bad they can't pry a guy like Saad away from the Hawks.

Alex Chiasson from Ottawa..another big body made under a million last year, still young

They have to dump salary though Al in order to go after any UFA. Stafford on paper is not impressive but he always seems to score on Hank. He seems to play well at the garden. Though about him and Chiasson.

First thing they have to do is wait for the Talbot deal to go down and I don't think it will be long. I think Sather wants that done. I pray he makes the team getting him get Glass. He should since Talbot is dirt cheap.

However, Sather makes deals you never see coming. I didn't see the Yandle one coming. I wouldn't be surprised if Sather pulled off a Nash for O'Reilly deal. Then moved Hayes to wing. That's the kind of stuff he does.

Curious to see what Justin Williams will command. I know he's 33 but his playoff track record is what this team needs. He has 3 cups, a Conn Smythe and scores huge playoff goals.

I'd love what Williams would bring, but it's not just his age and price that worry me. He doesnt strike me as the kind of guy who would have the amount of success in AV's system to justify the price tag. Not a great skater or passer. Yes we want goals and he can score them, but not sure he'd score enough in this system to justify say 4 years 4 mil.

Maybe they go after someone like Tlusty or Fleischmann in the 3m. Both solid players who can give upwards of 15g.

Stewart is interesting, Williams is interesting, Belesky is interesting, Soderberg....those guys will all get contracts more than what they're worth. One thing we know is the team will be adding a backup goalie and a forward...

Thinking the backup goalie will be Lindback.. Enroth maybe, but he'll probably want to sign in a place where he has a chance to start

Would anyone be interested in kyle okpokso

Stafford got 2 years @ 4.35
Justin Williams likes that deal, no way we can get him now

eh, not a big fan of Ward.... IDK

was just going to post. Any interest in Paille.. I know he is a bottom 6 guy but if they ship out Glass a Paille/Moore/Lidberg line can be good

Vermette back to AZ..Williams down to Wash, Philly or us, Sharp could be headed to Brooklyn.

Where did you see that he was considering us? Im encouraged that we were at least targeting him, shows me that the front office isnt asleep at the wheel and sees that a guy like him is necessary.

He's actually a good info source on July 1st. Not the end of the world, though he is now helping a direct rival. I still think Tlusty or a trade is possible.

He's just what WSH needs... I was on the fence with him... Seems like he would come here and lose that Mr. GAME 7 moniker

For 2/6.5 there is not much risk. He is also a 15-20 goals reg season guy. Great signing by Wash

Yeah, but the issue with the last part of your comment strud is you were just being negative. There is nothing fact based about what you are saying. SURE he could have come here and stunk, you can say that about any player, but who knows. And on a 2 year deal...come on. And he went to a rival, who is now better than us. And who do we add now considering we are clearly short upfront?

Is what it is. If the plan is to have these forwards and think Hank and this "great D" will carry us I think we are in for a very rude awakening.

We talk about all the potential positive IF'S, but what IF Nash doesn't score 42 again? What IF Brassard isn't as good next season? What IF we have injuries in the regular season as we didn't have this past season? A lot of if's the other way as well. Too many if's to feel good right now. And Miller/Etem/Fast all in the top 9 isn't good enough.

Tlusty doesn't excite me. 15 goal guy, usually misses a handful of games, L shot, sort of a one demensional player. Not excited.

Don't get me wrong, if it is him or nothing I guess I'd take him, but not excited about him adding something big here.

Yeah, i definately here you there. Just that there's not much left.

Thing is Chuck he didn't sign with us. I see what u mean and yes I am taking a glass half empty view.

i sure hope he isn't Mr. game 7, especially against us
