Ballah asked for someone to start a debate, hopefully this will get all the UFC haters over and we can have a debate. Well more of a one-sided debate, giving the edge to us UFC people.Mixed Martial Arts, or "Ultimate Fighting" as Bill O'Reilly likes to call it, has been in the U.S. since 1993. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) combines many different martial arts, including Karate, Boxing, Muy Thai Kickboxing, Jiu-Jutsu grappling, Submission/shoot fighting, wrestling (sambo, judo and freestyle), taekwondo and others. There are many MMA organizations, such as PRIDE FC, WFA, WEC, K1(more kickboxing than MMA) and the leading organization when it comes to popularity (in US), the UFC. Also, they have a league called the IFL (international fighting league) Basically, the have teams and each team as a veteran MMA fighter as coach, and 5 fighters. one for each weight class.Weight Classes:Lightweight: 145-155Welterweight: 155-175Middleweight: 175-185Light Heavyweight: 185-205Heavyweight: 205-265In a fight, the fighters start up standing up. Fighters can punch anywhere except groin, spine, or back of teh head, elbow (you can't elbow with the point of the elbow however) knee, kick, get a takedown and grapple, choke an opponent, get a submission (arm bar, rear naked choke, triangle choke, leg lock, achilles lock, kimura, upa, etc)fighters can win by:KO (when a fighter punches his opponent, and opponent can not get up and continue)Referee Stoppage aka TKO, technical knockout (when a fighter is beating the crap of his opponent, the referee stops the fight when the fighter getting his ass handed to him, is not intelligently defending himself)Decision (unanimous, majority, split, or draw)Submission (due to strikes, or any choke, or any actually submission like arm bar, etc)So, it's sanctioned by 20 out of 50 states. Should it be kept alive, and should it be sanctioned in all 50 states, including NY (Pataki F*ck HATES UFC) and Arizona (John McCain, senator, hates UFC. Btw, Ken Shamrock debated him about how UFC is safer than Boxing, and Ken OWNED him)Btw, MMA is safer than Boxing. For example, in the UFC, fighters are using very thin gloves, only big enough to protect the knuckles. In boxing, you use huge oz gloves. In Boxing, you're suposed to punch your opponent in to the head so hard, etc, for 12 rounds. UFC it's 3 rounds (5 for championship fights) The big gloves, when you punch hard, have an impact on the head. If you've ever been hit in the head with a big boxing glove, you know what I mean. It may not be as hard as a UFC glove, but at least you won't get Parkinsan's disease or a stroke. Once again, should the UFC be allowed to stay?

is this why you left ufc-o? because you didn't know what you were talking about?
