They have people scanning justin.tv now and insta-banning anyone who streams a game from one of their channels.

Why hasn't some random terrorist act been committed against them yet?

It's time to go back to fsn northwest, now that the sonics are gone, they would get full air time.

I hate comcast so much, canceled everything with them. I am sure a new site will pop up and stream. give it a day or two. Boycott all comcast products.

Yeah, My comcast is down again today. The cable box just gave up like it did a couple of weeks ago. no video....just glorious comcast menu.

So i'm watching on broadcast cable, lo-def. better than nothing.....

Glad there's an alternate stream that's for sure, for people getting banned for justin's.

fuck comcast!

if i could change i would!

Yeah Comcast is pathetic. I've canceled everything I had with them and have also got some friends and family to do the same. 2-3 more current customers will be canceling soon as well, possibly more. This also includes one family member of mine who has pretty much ALL of their services (phone, internet, HDTV, premium channels, Starz, HBO, and more).

Not hard to tell based on my sig, but I've pretty much launched an anti-Comcast campaign in response to this ridiculous situation, and so far I've cost them a number of subscribers and probably thousands of dollars by now. =)

And I'm gonna keep at it until deal is reached. ;)

each game i goto im gonna bring a sign with ur sig. u think they will let me?

Yeah, maybe they should use their time more wisely, stop being so greedy and get a deal done with the satellites rather than trying to take down internet feeds. Seems like they're just wasting their time.

Worth a shot! :ghoti:
its perfect because my mom has season tickets were there are no seats in front of them. so i can just hang it there for the whole game. im sure they would never show it on tv but still. the point would get across. probably be in the oregonian hahaha

Is comcast a woman, and if so does she look like Rebecca Harlow?
If so, maybe I should get comcast. Otherwise, forget it.

How about a sign that says:

RIP CITY?

Amen to that. Comcast is a truly evil company, but unfortunately I have no other option right now. As soon as Fios is available in my area, I'm switching.

I just got one of those magic jack things so I can get rid of my phone service with them asap. Too expensive.

As a founder of the Comcast Sucks movement, I feel some satisfaction with some of the dissatisfied Comcast posters in this thread. Get out before they jack up your rates yet again! Their stock is down to $13.57 off of a high of only $22.86 in the past 52 weeks. Meanwhile, DirecTV is eating up Dish Network right now (I'd expect a buyout pretty soon), and is at $22.94 off of a 52 week high of $29.10.

Comcast overreached. The question is when they will start defaulting on contracts as the ad revenues continue to diminish.

Is it legal to steam things such as NBA games over the internet free of charge? If not, I can understand why they would ban people.

Overall I hate Comcast, but I know if customers were giving my product away for free over the internet, I would be pissed to no end!

It isn't legal at all and it costs them ad revenue.

How does it cost them ad revenue when the people wouldn't be able to watch it in the first place? The people that get the comcast stream are seeing commercials they otherwise wouldn't be. They are costing themselves ad revenue by not making a deal with Directv and others.

I can understand people doing it because of no deal being done with satellite and some can't get it any other way, but of course that doesn't make it right.

She looks great at a distance but up close she has flaws. Theres another RG staff that has a much better body than her and she wears spandex black pants every game. It shows off her booty quite nicely.

P.S. Zagsfan you know whom I am talking about. ;)

Aren't you the guy who's in love with all the chubbies?

Because I'd wager some of those people who are watching those streams (and I'd say probably more than some) are able to get comcast - they just choose to stick with their current provider or left Comcast for some other reason.

As to whether they're costing themselves ad revenue that is up for debate. Is it Directv/Dish or Comcast? I'd bet it is a combination of both parties being extremely stubborn and not wanting to budge.

Comcast probably isn't 'hunting down' these streams, but rather they probably do have a few people watching message boards across the web. Considering that the streams to the Blazers games are posted on at least four message boards and Blazersedge as well people are basically asking for it to be shutdown. Since I imagine that many of the people streaming are actually using their own Comcast bandwidth (and time of course) that now has a monthly limit (and is starting to get throttled regardless of what Comcast says) more and more streamers are going to get frustrated and just stop altogether. Especially since they get shit on by a lot of people in their chats who are benefiting from the streamer's generosity.

So you are saying they are losing ad revenue not from the games, which the people will see either way, but from other programing during the day/nite that if the people that could get comcast would see?

Sure Comcast's prices are higher then I'd like, but prices for almost everything are higher than I'd like. I'm happy with Comcast (tv, phone, internet).

So you are saying they are losing ad revenue not from the games, which the people will see either way, but from other programing during the day/nite that if the people that could get comcast would see?

No.. they're losing ad revenue from the games. Ad revenue is how much they sell ad time for to companies during certain time slots. So more viewers during Blazer games justifies a higher price for the companies purchasing ad space during Blazer games (most likely targeting the male 18-36 viewers) and less viewers lowers the price at which they can sell slots for advertisements.

Since someone streaming the game to hundreds/thousands of people online is not counted towards total number of viewers (look at it like having hundreds to thousands of people in your living room - it is only being counted as your normal house hold total since they don't know you have hundreds/thousands of people in your living room) it costs them ad revenue. So you see that those people who COULD purchase Comcast but choose not to and instead watch streams online are costing Comcast money.

It is the same basic reason as to why NBA League Pass has a 150 mile blackout radius for local teams.
