I was reading Hoopshype rumors this morning. There is a article that Detroit may have a fire sale this offseason and try and move Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince. Not to be a doom sayer because I still have a lot of faith in our current team, but if we could upgrade and get Tayshaun Prince at a good value, I say do it. I know we have a lot of SF already, but Martel can play some 2 also, and Outlaw can play some 4 which he seems to play better anyway. Tayshaun can take more pressure off of Roy, because he can score, defend, handle the ball and is a deceit assist player. He is also a good post up player at the SF position. With Tayshaun and Batum, it would improve our defense a ton. I have seen him cover PG for periods of time as well as PF. I know we have some cap space and I wonder if Detroit would take our cap room, a young player, and future draft picks. If not, I wonder what you think we would need to pull it off. I good vet who is still young and plays tough.

I'd give up quite a bit to have Tayshaun mentor Batum on our roster.

I'd definitely go Outlaw/Bayless/pick for him.

It'd save them some money and we'd just have a gnarly flex team with great passing and no true point. With Tayshaun and Batum's versatile defense and Tay's ball handling skills I think we'd be fine at:

Rudy/Sergio/Roy
Roy/Webster
Prince/Batum/Webster
Aldridge/Prince
Oden/Pryzbilla

we could create a ton of mismatches with that roster.

Do you think Detroit is looking for lots of talent or cap room? It would be great if they are looking for cap room and all we have to do is give up future picks and a player. Tayshaun and our off season addition would be awesome. It would mean Outlaw playing less IMO, but at least he wouldn't bitch a ton on the bench.

think they would take Sergio, and Outlaw? I think Bayless is going to be a scoring PG, but that might work with a great passing SF like Prince. He plays point forward from time to time like Pippen did.

My recollection about Dumars is that he is delusional when it comes to trades, he asks for A LOT....

I don't see them dealing Prince, Rip perhaps...and they will want more than reasonable return for either player....

So, if Pritchard gave up Bayless, Outlaw and a 2010 unprotected 1st round pick, do you think he would want more?

Ever heard of the Washington Wizards?

What makes you (a) think he's done a better job than Nate and (b) that he's going to be available, anyways?

Yeah, he's a GREAT coach, I'm sure... just ask the Grizzlies!

Oh, yeah... THAT'S gonna go over pretty well!

rollie fingers

What in the hell does an MLB Hall of Famer know about coaching in the NBA... !? Seriously!?

And KP loves his youngin's so that's not a good combo. Detroit could probably get much better talent than what KP would be willing to give in return.

The rumor is they could go to NO for David West.

But you know who I'd like the Blazers to go after this offseason? David Lee! That dude can rebound and score inside, he's just what we need. I'm sure that will not happen due to him not being able to get enough PT here though.

He traded Chauncey Billups for the most overrated player in the NBA, a guy who instantly sank the Pistons into a mire from which they couldn't recover. So maybe he'll make a bad trade with us?

I don't think anyone of us actually KNOWS what he asks for. I don't believe stuff I hear in the press afterwards. "Hey, Tayshaun...we weren't going to trade you unless we got Lebron James. We love you buddy. You're our guy!"

Actually, I'm pretty sure he traded Chauncey for cap space. The fact that AI is the one attached to the cap space doesn't really matter. Now you could certainly say he shouldn't have done that, but until we see what he does with that cap space it's not clearly a bad move. It does seem bad at this point however.

So you would also cut Blake, Frye, and Griffin in that plan, right?

who's griffin? you mean ruffin? Yes, cut all 3.
I really like Blake, but we can manage with Bayless getting 12-15 a night and letting dre-day run the show.
That team would be lethal!

Yeah, Ruffin.... sorry..... I'm medicated right now.

How much cap space would that give us by cutting those three?

The number that's bandied about a lot recently is "16 million in cap space" -- that's total after cutting Blake, Frye, Puffin, Outlaw, and letting RLEC go. So subtract Outlaw's money from that 16 mil. 12-13 mil?

flip was the only series one
the rest were jokes...byron will be fired after yesterday
look at nate's record, what would be the best way to beat the rockets? RUN RUN RUN RUN but has he? no he made them play sloball that replicated snorezboball.....

nate reminds me of the coach before ramsey came in....time to find our next ramsay. plus this is the last year of his contract....

That would still be enough to get Miller I suspect. I'm really curious what kind of market we'll see this summer. Are teams going to spend money, or are they going to try to cut back?

Miller just turned 33. I suspect he has about 3-4 good years left in him.

Market value - 4 years for 32 million?

Recession value - 4 years for 24 million?

If we could get Miller for 6-7 million a year, I would say that's a pretty good deal, and that's more than MLE. How much is Philly willing to pay to keep him? I'd be willing to go as high as 8 million a year to sign him, but anything over that would be way too much.

Yea, I think 6-8 mill for Dre would be sufficient. Bring over PetKo and Freeland to fill out the roster
