Valve software is doing a thing

It'll be interesting to see where this goes, but until/unless they can find a way to improve emulation over WINE I have a hard time believing PC gamers are going to give up windows for this.

Any other nerds curious or have any thoughts on this?

I didn't think it is to replace computer gaming but to expand gaming to smart TV sets.

I know that part of the function of SteamOS is to use it as the backbone for a streaming device, where you can fire up a game on your windows box and divert it to your Television. In addition to that, Valve has really been pushing Steam on Linux over the past 6 to 9 months. I think long-term they are hedging against MS closing their system and turning it into a "walled garden" - becoming a direct competitor with a built-in digital distribution platform that will squeeze Valve out of the picture.

No I mean more like Windows as a digital storefront, like Itunes is to Apple.
