First Vance (msp hour 2 today) says Allen pushing cho to make a move to make blazers better now and in future. Vance says Camby most likely to be moved!!! What??? Also says Nate wont be back...again. Also says reason Roy is playing is because Blazers want to know what they have and if they should you that clause in the new cba. Basically want to watch roy. Thats why hes playing.

Chad Ford says Wes is not on untouchable list.

Roddy (Portland (OR))

Cho said that he would be making moves. I can't see moving Camby or Miller right now, so that leaves Pryzbilla and someone else to use as trade bait. Any ideas Chad, cause us Blazer fans are waiting for good news rather then the injury news that seems to be all we get. Oh also LMA snubbed for All-Star, any comments about that?
Chad Ford (1:16 PM)

Blazers are active as well, though things are bit different in Portland now. Kevin Pritchard was one of the more aggressive GMs in the league. Cho is more like RC Buford, Sam Presti and the like that wait patiently for things to come to them. Andre Miller is a big asset for them (especially when his contract isn't guaranteed for next season) and I've heard a number of teams are also interested in Wes Matthews. Only two untouchables I think are Aldridge and Batum.

Teams may be interested in Matthews, but it's hard to think of a quality SG we can replace him with that brings his level of defense, open court ability and perimeter shooting.

He just seems like too nice of a fit for this team for us to part with. Especially given that he's only 24 and may still have some upside in seeing the floor (his greatest current weakness).

Moving Matthews would be incredibly stupid. I don't buy that scenario happening at all. Seeing Przybilla, Miller, or even Camby go is certainly a possibility but it would have to be for something really good coming back.

What newspaper is Vance running now?

I am sure teams are interested in Wes Mathews. Batum being untouchable is ridiculous IMO. All I know is if they trade one of our younger players and end up keeping old guys, I probably will be pretty pissed.

As a season ticket holder I will be extremely interested in what transpires. It is renew time.

If Matthews got traded with another player or pick then I think we would be getting a very, very good piece back. Note that I think it's highly, highly unlikely Wes is traded.

Trade Matthews. That's hilarious! He's been our second best player this year and has a great contract considering his #'s... plus he'll only get better.

Nate will be back. Gaurantee it!

im glad that allen isnt blowing it up trying to make us better.

thats awesome news. also making cho make a move that helps us rather then being the pussy he is when it comes to dealing.

Vance did not say Camby is likely to be moved. He said if someone is going to be moved it will be Camby and that there's only a chance it could happen.

wtf is the difference??????????????????

lmao. so if someone is being moved its camby. *Edited*

What's the difference? Is that a serious question?

There's a big difference between "chance" and "likely". *Edited*

um no. if someone is being moved it camby. that means 50/50

Great thread! Kenny Vance as a source, I fucking love it!

Camby will likely be moved (>50%), is a far cry from IF there is a trade (?% likelihood), then it will likely be Camby. The second statement doesn't make any kind of prediction that there will be a trade at all.

Go Blazers

My next door neighbor is a mailman who doesn't even pay attention to the NBA, and he knew KP was going to be fired!

I think he (Vance) said it long before it was "common knowledge" - but maybe I am wrong.

I think it would be great if we could make a move that would both make us better today AND in the future. Unfortunately, it's generally one or the other.

He also said promised that Warkentein was out next GM. He just tosses shit out like everybody else. Nice guy, but no real inside info. Never out on the court talking to players.

OK. My memory is hazy about that. I remembered the first one (KP being let go), not the 2nd (Wark).

Do not think this really matters in this instance - as the info is not likely to come from the players.

Time will tell.

Well at least it isn't like the article by Sean Deveany of the Sporting news. He has a list of 4 deals he thinks should be made. He suggested Orlando trade 4 of their backups for Joel Pryzbilla. I wonder if he even bothered to look at how full our roster is before he thought that was a great idea.

That reminds me I thought I was Warkentein given a Knicks position the other day. But it was just on the NBATV news scrolling at the bottom of the screen, so didn't really check it out any further.

If Portland trades Matthews, I may stop watching the games. He's one of the best things to happen to the Blazers in a long time, and I can't imagine him playing in another uniform.

Even a broken clock gets the time right twice a day.

In the NBA it isn't any great risk saying a GM or coach will be fired. It's only a matter of time before you are correct.

There is no convincing HCP that Vance knows anything. it doesn't matter that he has broken things in the past or not. Only the Mikes know what is going on

FWIW, Larry Miller was on Courtside and when asked if the team will talk to McMillan about an extension, Larry with his his little smirky smile answered "we'll talk". Everyone seemed to take it as the team will try to bring McMillan back.

The team would be crazy to let McMillan walk.

I agree it makes sense usually - but it was not in Portland with the team riding high and KP being so popular with the fanbase at large.

Why, what has he won?

Aldridge is the only guy I'd expect to be untouchable.

The other 14 guys it would simply matter who we got in return.
