Im an OSU Fan, but i respect the Ducks, this IMHO is a stupid move, I hope he doesnt play in a game, not for the sake of Oregon State, for the sake of that team and everything surrounding it

I don't have a real problem with it either way. I doubt he'll be a determining factor anyway in any game we have left.

I have no problem with it. Hard decision for CK I'm sure... He was put in a bad situation in the first place.. He showed that one guy is not bigger than the team.. but he also showed that people can be forgiven for their mistakes, and get another chance.. I think the suspension shows a lot to the parents of the potential recruits.. but re-instating shows the kids something too.

Meh.

The initial punishment was overkill, so I have no problem with giving him another chance.

OTOH, this won't help the team win their remaining games....so who cares? At best, this will give people something to talk about besides the Stanford collapse.

...I know this was predetermined earlier in the year and all, but what coincidental timing right after another November choke job :dunno:

Let the guy play. He messed up and has paid a fair enough price already.

riiiiiiiiiiiight ;)

I agree w/ BeerBoy.

But he shouldn't be a big part of the offense at all, imo. He isn't as good as LaMichael James anyway.

7-2, #13, Hold own destiny to get to the Rose Bowl.

Hows your team?

Very well said.

over half the people on espn voted to re-instate Blount... coincedentally Arizona is one of the states against it ;)

Well, I believe if we beat you we'll have a say in the destiny of who goes to the Rose Bowl...so..pretty good, thanks.

dude only set the all time touchdown record for the Ducks last season and at least was projected as a high draft pick in the next NFL draft at the start of the season, so I don't know why you're so quick to dismiss him as inferior. He's obviously a very different running back then LJ so they're sort of hard to compare as to who is better. Safe to say having both available is better then only one or the other.

not that I really know how Chip will use him, but my guess is that they'll roughly split time

STOMP

so your team doesnt hold its own destiny to the Rose Bowl.. is that what youre trying to say? ;)

riiiiiiiiiiiight ;)

I'm just curious what comes next.

My prediction: Lose to 'Zona - Blount is buried alive. Lose to OSU - zombie Blount rises up and wanders through the ERB, sucking brains! :ghoti:

I'm not sure how the tie breaker works but I think USC wins.

That is my basic understanding of every Pac-10 rule. USC wins.

If that is not the case then we do control our own destiny.

If that is the case, then USC wins.

That Florida player tried to poke a guy's eyes out and he's suspended 1 half. Blount got a raw deal (though in the end fair) compared to the way the "traditional" powerhouse schools work.

ah see but the Ducks are in position to bypass that rule.. thats the beauty of it.

based on what? losing 1 time every 2 months.. give me a break.

Yes, clearly we need Blount if we have any hope of winning. We're only averaging 36 points and our running game is garbage and all, right? :rolleyes3:

This is absolute bullshit in my opinion. You're going to let a guy come back who fucking sucker punched another player in the face, and then started going after some people in the stands...yet you suspend Dez Bryant for the season for making a simple mistake and lying since he was afraid he broke a rule by hanging out with Deion Sanders that he didn't actually break. I don't know who's more pathetic in this situation, the NCAA for not actually suspending him for the season, or the Oregon coach for letting him come back. This just makes me fucking sick.

So Chip Kelly should be harder on someone because of a stupid decision by the NCAA? I agree Dez Bryant's suspension is crap, but it should have no bearing on this decision.

No, Chip Kelly should be hard on someone because he deserved to be suspended all season. Either that or the NCAA should have done it themselves. Blount doesn't deserve to see the field again this season after what he did. Chip Kelly should have never gone back on his decision to suspend him all year, but I think the NCAA and their douchebag selves should have stepped in and done something about it.

ok so it sounds like you are one who feels he should have been suspended all season which is fine.. I can appreciate your opinion. My main point was Dez Bryant's BS deal he got should not and does not have anything to do with this reinstatement.

Oh I'm aware, I'm just in the boat that the NCAA should have stepped in and suspended him for the entire season. I don't think the Bryant decision should be weighed in it either, I just find it strange and infuriating that the NCAA did nothing about this, which is much more serious than what Bryant did, yet they suspended him for the season.

The NCAA is basically a joke I agree.. they were "satisfied" with Spikes only getting a half game suspension. And the Bryant decision. My guess on why they didnt do anything about the Blount incident because he was already suspended for the season.. not much more they could have done at that time. I guess we are just in different boats.. the guy lost his cool and has more than paid his debt for his stupid decision IMO, he basically took a blank check that night and ripped it up. He has worked hard and I would venture to guess, met some strict requirements to be in the position to be reinstated.

The Brandon Spikes thing agitated me too. I'm glad he took it upon himself to sit out the entire game. That, in my book, shows how much the NCAA loves Florida. Ugh...how I hate Florida.

lol see it all comes back to something we can agree on. We can hate the SEC

Going after someone's eyes bothers me much more than punching. That is freaking savage, and any slight amount of contact could cause significant damage. I don't know both sides of the story but I don't condone such actions.
