After being told 'yes', then 'no' not less than 6 times. After numersous emails, telephone calls and faxes..... I am finally the proud owner of Windows 7 that was promised me months ago when I bought my Toshiba laptop with Windows Vomit-Vista on it.

It was one hell of a battle and a few times I was ready to throw in the towel, but after losing battle after battle I have finally won the war.

Grats! What is funny is they kept denying my validation and I just gave up. They kept sending me emails saying they did not have proof of purchase and then all the sudden they send one that said they had it and sent it out. Didn't need it because I already had the familiy pack.

They put me thru the same ringer. But because I'm cheap, I had to fight the fight.

Here is a tip. You can download the new Microsoft Office 10 beta version from isohunt dot com and you do not need a CD key to install it on W7!

Why not just download MS Office 10 Beta from Microsoft? It's free and they give you the CD Key for free.

If you can't afford MS Office 10 when the Beta expires in October 2010 then go to Isohunt or some other BT site and look for the official Enterprise edition. But downloading a pirated version of a program that's free is a little goofy don't ya think?

As if I understand at all what you're talking about. I know very little about computers.

Ignore his post, he doesn't know much either.

Do you want a free copy of Microsoft Office 2010? It's in Beta release meaning they want people to try it and help them discover any bugs and flaws before they start selling it in Oct. 2010. Link here - http://officebeta.microsoft.com/en-us/?CTT=97

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and I've had no problems.

vista is my favorite OS of all-time, I'm not even gonna switch.

With the right hardware it works great. I run the 64bit version and have had no problems.

I have a lot of problems with my internet browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox, whatever) freezing up. I'm wondering if it's related to Vista?

Try only going to one porn site at a time, no multiple tabs.

How much ram do you have in your system?

What anti-virus program do you use? Norton is a resource hog. I use AVG, it's free!

Download and run Spybot.

Actually....

1) 3 Gigs

2) AVG

3) Spyware Doctor

Well that explains why your browser freezes up for 2 seconds..

Actually, porn jokes aside, my browser freezes indefinitely. I have to close, then re-open (which sometimes takes over a minute.)

In Spybot in the advanced section there is a tab you can click on that shows you all of the crap that starts up when your computer boots up. A lot of the crap are things you don't care about. You could have some program that wants to log on to the internet periodically to check for updates that is interfering with your browsers. Even if this isn't causing your problems it will at least free up more system resources and that will help your system to reload your browser faster when it does crash. Most programs I turn off any automatic updates because I'm good at remembering to check for them on my own.

On your browser programs you know about clicking on the Help tab and checking for the latest updates right?

lol i work in IT and had it months ago on my work laptop and personal desktop. HOWEVER. I'm glad you stuck it to the "man" and got your copy.
good job mang.
