Vince Carter is enjoying himself now. When Kidd was around, Carter would constantly be criticized about not driving to the basket. Jason would put pressure on Carter, and obviously Vince doesn't like it. VC doesn't care about winning a championship. He just wants to play his game, and earn money. Now he has that opportunity. What's Frank going to do? Bench him?

it's even worse during blowouts. you look at everybody else, their heads are down and are all upset while carter has the biggest smile on his face. you see kobe, iverson, lebron. when they're teams lose they look PISSED. i wish VC would show that emotion but he doesn't care.

to be fair the VC he's not even on the same level as a Kobe Iverson or Lebron. So to expect VC to preform on the same level as those players is not fair. Now if you are talking about Iggy or Mike Redd then I think that's a little more fair

Well he's not a leader. If the purpose of this thread was to question whether or not he was one or if he was the right man to support a franchise, I'll help you out right now: he isn't.

I know there was another thread in the Nets forum about finding a franchise player and I think Vince Carter is the shining example of what you don't want to get caught in. He's got more talent and ability than a GM could reasonably hope for, but there's no leadership or heart or work ethic. A franchise player doesn't necessarily have to be the type of player that requires max money or has higher-level talent.

Iggy was really vocal earlier on in the season when the Sixers were struggling. Some criticized him for complaining and being a bad teammate, but I would much rather have my players be upset about losing rather than just laughing it off and not giving a shit.

And Carter isn't the only guy who goes and shares some hugs, conversations, smiles, or prayers with opposing players after losses or during games. In fact, Darrell Armstrong was the first guy off the Nets bench to go over and give a hug and strike up a conversation with McGrady after the loss.
