Vince says quad's OK

Carter spent yesterday recovering from the strained right quadriceps he suffered in Wednesday night's win over Utah. He hurt himself in the third quarter, left the game and returned at the start of the fourth.

He then scored 13 of his 30 points in the final 12 minutes to help the Nets win. Though he felt "sore" after the game, Carter declared himself good to go against the Heat, even if he didn't get a chance to test himself physically. "It felt better this morning," Carter said.

When quizzed about Carter's status, Lawrence Frank didn't give a definitive answer, issuing the same response he gave when asked about a hobbling Richard Jefferson the day before: "We'll see."

The Heat also has health issues. After injuring his knee in last Friday's win over the Nets in Miami, Shaquille O'Neal missed the last two games. Though O'Neal practiced yesterday, his status may not be known until just before tipoff. </div>

Health issues? We really don't need that right now. We already have House and Boone gone, and if either Carter or RJ become injured it's going to be a huge killer.

I rather see them rest this game then take a risk for future games.
