The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (4-0) set a new NBA Development League 3-Point Field Goals Made record tonight with 24 three-point field goals in a 145-116 win over the Texas Legends (3-1) tonight at State Farm Arena.

Troy Daniels led the Vipers with 29 points, followed by Isaiah Canaan with a double-double 25 points, 10 assists. Chris Johnson added 24 points, and Robert Covington scored a double-double 18 points, 14 rebounds. Daniels and Canaan each shot 7-for-12 from three-point range.

Devin Ebanks led the Legends with a double-double 23 points, 15 rebounds. Melvin Ely and Terrel Harris each recorded 16 points. Chris Douglas-Roberts, Sean Singletary and Ricky Ledo added 13 points apiece.

Texas took a 5-0 lead to start the first quarter on a jump shot from Ely and a shot from behind the arc by Singletary. Covington responded with a layup to put the Vipers on the board. A shot from Canaan put the Vipers ahead 6-5, and they held the lead until a free throw from Singletary tied the game at 27 points with 0:33.8 on the clock. The Legends held a 29-27 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Vipers took control of the game in the second quarter. RGV shot 12-17 from three-point range, and outscored the Legends 47-31 in the second quarter. At the end of the half, the Vipers led 74-60.

RGV remained in control of the second half of the game. Tim Ohlbrecht gave the Vipers their largest lead of the game 145-111 with a hook shot and 0:58.9 on the clock. The Vipers won 145-116.

The Vipers play again tomorrow when they host the Delaware 87ers in a 7 p.m. contest at State Farm Arena, and again on Thursday, Dec. 5 in an 11 a.m. Kids Day game.
