Wallace/Aldridge/Camby

Add Nic and Wes, and you have the best defensive unit in the NBA.

Or the bestest rebounding front court in the NBA?

If you shoot a good percentage and win the rebounding war every night you will win a high percentage of your games.

Wes/Nic/Crash/LMA/Camby would destroy teams... make them cry. 8 points a quarter bad for opponents. Of course, with no point guard, we'll only score 10 points a quarter... but still! :D

We might have to play football there and change offensive for defensive lines with each possession - as there is no-one there that can really bring the ball up-court under pressure.

That is true. On the other hand, you may have the worst ball handling unit in the NBA as well with those guys.

That's a good rebounding front-court, but the real win is that it's a super versatile defensive front-court ... the permimeter got a lot better too.

I wouldn't be shocked if our crunch-time lineup was Miller, Wesley, Wallace, LMA, Camby, or they might go small depending on matchups and go Miller, Wesley, Batum, Wallace, Aldridge. Nate loves to switch on all pick and rolls and either of those 5 man units gives you that ability.

Lol. Ya. But that team can get stops in crunch. I love the defensive versatility it provides. We can legitimately switch on all picks and not get burned. Nate has to love that.

Miller still needs to play heavy minutes, he's still the team's only good point guard. Batum, Matthews and Wallace should rotate through the 2/3 spots and Wallace/Aldridge/Camby through the 4/5 spots (obviously, no Wallace at 5).

That's a pretty solid group of players to play most of the minutes. Toss in Roy and Rudy and you can soak up almost all the non-garbage time minutes.

This guy is a fuckin workhorse STUDDDDDDD!!! HUGE pickup especially for what we are giving up for him!!! HUGE! This makes us scary for so many teams!!!

I'd still like to see a backup big that can give you 10-15 minutes

Roy wasn't horrid at point lat night; sure, lots of rust, but he can run the plays if he doesn't get a bug up his ass to be the man. I can see him playing backup PG and letting Andre get away with 32mpg like he has so far this season.

any crunch time lineup suggestion that doesn't have Roy in it is doomed to not see the court, imo. Not saying I like that particular event, but you saw that last night...even in his first game in 2 months, rusty as heck and sitting the bench for much of the 4th, he got inserted in over Andre.

Who was more likely to hit a 3 with 4 seconds left, Andre or Roy? Remember, Roy had hit one already by that point. I think Nate was just getting as many legit shooters on the floor as possible to keep LA from compressing in on LMA. Besides, he ended up being a decoy.

Wallace better leave his headband in Charlotte

I think if he talks to coach about it that won't be a problem. The dude does need to keep his hair out of his face.

batum also plays the 4 sometimes

As rusty as Roy looked last night - he still had the best +/- on the floor and the Lakers had a lot more trouble containing him than they did to any other perimeter player we had in the 3rd/4th quarter.

We didn't need a 3...we needed a point.

Regardless, all that I'm saying is that in his first game back, after playing only 15 minutes and looking a bit rusty in his first game in 2 months after double-knee surgery, he was put on the floor. So it's not likely that he'll be left out of any crunch time lineups going fwd, unless it's on the back-to-back.

Easily the most talented Blazers team since the Jail Blazers

Probably not, and for good reason; he's hit many of those shots before, and unless he brick half a dozen in a row like that, we have no reason not to have him out there, even as a decoy. I'm not terribly concerned about this.

Who else loved the play were Roy caused Shannon Brown to fall on his ass? Of course it was a little ruined by Roy going "WTF I can still do that to people?" and then missing the shot.
