A former Washington state man who was convicted of trespassing at an Enumclaw farm where a man was fatally injured while having sex with a horse in 2005 is accused of having sex with animals on a Tennessee farm.

James Tait, 58, was arrested and charged Thursday with three counts of felony animal cruelty in Maury County, Tenn. Kenny Thomason, 44, who lives with Tait, was charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty.

"They've been having sex with full-grown horses," Maury County Detective Terry Chandler said Monday. "He [Tait] has been here for four years and it looks like it has been going on for some time."

Chandler said that Thomason owns the farm and the animals — 13 horses, Shetland ponies, goats and dogs. The detective said that it appears that people had been having sex with the ponies and dogs as well as well as larger horses.

Deputies learned about the farm last week from someone who had recently visited. The person e-mailed investigators a photo of a man who was having sex with a Shetland pony, Chandler said.

Chandler said he's investigating whether the farm was being advertised as some sort of bestiality destination — just as happened in the Enumclaw case. Chandler said that detectives have recovered several videotapes of men having sex with animals on the farm.

Tait and Thomason are each being held on more than $100,000 bail, Chandler said.

When Enumclaw police searched Tait's Enumclaw farm in July 2005 they found hundreds of videotapes depicting men having sex with horses. One video showed a 45-year-old Gig Harbor man having sex with a horse shortly before he died of acute peritonitis due to perforation of the colon on July 2, 2005.

Authorities charged Tait with trespassing at a neighbor's farm on the night of the Gig Harbor man's death. Tait's neighbors told The Times in 2005 that they didn't know that people had been sneaking into their barn to have sex with their horses.

Tait entered an Alford plea to the criminal trespassing charge in King County District Court on Nov. 29, 2005. Under the plea, he did not admit guilt but acknowledged a jury would likely convict him.

In addition, Tait's rented Enumclaw farm was known in Internet chat rooms as a destination for people who wanted to have sex with livestock, according to the King County Sheriff's Office.

In 2006, in response to the Enumclaw case, the Washington state Legislature made bestiality a Class C felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Yah, the topic itself was gross to read, but the comment about shooter was uncalled for.

That's true, but Sly and Shooter aren't as friendly. Knowing SPD a bit, however, I can say that it was meant in good humor.

The difference is that HCP and the beerboy appear to know each other in real life. And their jokes about about each others wives and there's a give and take. I don't recall shooter, for all his warts, as someone who makes bestiality jokes about someone. I don't recall there being a give and take between shooter and anyone (it's mostly take, in his case).

Shooter I'm sorry if the comment at the end of my first post offends you. That was never my intention. I just saw that the guy is from Tennessee, I remembered you posting yesterday that you bought land there and I went for the cheap joke. Nothing personal. If you want to go and ride horses sometime,

Huh?!? It wasn't meant to be mean spirited. It wasn't meant to be a shot at Shooter. He posted yesterday that he bought land in Tennessee. If you know of anyone else who posts here that is from Tennessee I would happily substitute their name for Shooter's.

Oh, it was very personal, and you know it. Easy to backtrack now, of course, after you've already posted the comment and it's there for everyone to read. You were clearly taking a shot at me, and one that I find mind-boggling.

It's amazing that the first thing you thought upon reading this story was me, rather than thinking how utterly disgusting and reprehensible these men's behavior is.

Shooter, I've posted with SPD for years in O-Live. Believe me when I say he's one of the most good-natured posters around. Honestly, I can assure you he didn't mean anything by it.

LOL!! No, you weren't the first thing I thought of after reading that story. I thought about when I first heard about this guy in Washington. I thought about how in the hell would someone like that find other people who share his depravity. Then I thought it would make an interesting post in the S2 OT section. And after I had copy and pasted it I remembered that we had a discussion on here yesterday that you had purchased land in Tennessee.

So in all honesty you were the last thing I thought about after I read that article.

The one thing that this article was not clear on is was this guy pitching or catching?
 
I think that if you have a ruptured colon causing acute peritonitis, it means you were the catcher.
 
What I learned from this thread about Talkhard, who wants his opponents tortured in the current wars, is that he demands that others take on his attitude toward the subject of sex, that is, to be humorless and sensitive as a wilting flower. This is an example of why religious people are sometimes called hypocrites. If you're a tough guy, be a tough guy. If you're a nice humorous loveable guy, be one. You can't pick and choose when to be sadistic and when to be humorless about harmless jokes about yourself.
