Way to Represent in the ASG B-Roy

Because Phil realizes that he's the most valuable player out there. Someone who makes the team work, doesn't showboat for stats, and works in the flow of the game. I could not be prouder to call Brandon Roy a player for the team that I root for.

Actually it was pretty unimpressive. He didn't do too much out there, but oh well. At least he didn't get injured. Shaq was fun to watch.

Excellent game. Had some nice finishes and displayed his all around game.

It was the fact that he DID do a lot out there and you didn't think he did much that is so impressive.

He wasn't concerned about being all showy...he just played his normal game, just like last year.

I'm just happy he didn't get hurt. Everybody knows how good he is now. I want him focused on helping the Blazers instead of these fluff games.

Ahh good one. I guess I just meant he did a lot of standing around out there. But your post is on the spot. I am going to read some books about basketball, maybe watch some instructional videos, and play some NBA 2K8. Then I will post. Check mate.

Unless you've coached youth basketball, you have no place posting on the interwebs!

He did seem to really pace himself which is good. He put out on a few dunks which is also good.

But did anyone see him continually rubbing his left hand, and it looked like he had trouble with the ball several times. I wonder if he has a minor injury to his hand.

Yes, but I didn't want to say anything.

Roy was great! So efficient. A couple flashy dunks for the fans. Great great game. Very proud of them. Let's get Oden in there by 2011.

I thought Bradon played really well. That alley oop from Tony Parker was sick. Actually, so was the throw down Paul set him up with off glass. And the give/go where he dunked with two hands.

He also had some sweet passes to Amare, & a pefect dime to Shaq for a lay-in. Let's call the all star game what it is . . . the guys who've been several times are all gunners (well, at least the guards/SF's are - big guys like Duncan, Yao, Karl Malone back in the day who aren't freekish athletes never get the rock) It's all about the show. What I like is Brandon showed he can hang atletically with those guys. Is he AS athletic as Kobe, D-Howard, LBJ? No, but he can play with those guys and hold his own. He even made me go "wow" a few times tonight.

He's just doesn't have enough clout yet to fire up 20 shots. Freeking Kobe starts out 4-10 and just keeps gunning and gunning.

BTW - anybody want to hurl with all the "Shaq/Kobe reunion" thing? What a suck fest. Give me a break - if these guys weren't so selfish they would have won 2-3 more rings. And Shaq saying that the whole drama before was for the media and was "intentional" is laughable. I wanted to puke when they held up that MVP trophy together.

Just another data point for the conspiracy theories that the league and its outcomes are less athletically and more marketly driven.

See, it's interviews like this that put Brandon in a class of Blazer players that I think no one have ever achieved, including Drexler. Maybe Walton during 77 and early 78, he was pretty personable and modest, but still had an underlying shyness and lack of people skills. Clyde was a diplomatic interview, but you could tell that he had a somewhat standoffish snootiness about himself that didn't connect completely with the audience and the interviewer.

Brandon Roy is the complete package. Coldly efficient and focused on the court, relaxed, honest, and REAL off the court. In all of his interviews, including this one, there's no sense of being politicked or sold anything other than the truth as he sees it.

I loved B-Roy's game tonight. Typical game from him, he didn't seem like he did much but the stats said differently. He's just a great representative for the franchise and this city.

Great showing! I think he played so much because Phil respects him so much.
