Been a fan since the mid-70-s, always will be. The bandwagon seems to be getting lighter by the minute. The team need support now more then ever.

HCP, please send our best to GO. He doesn't deserve this kind of luck.

Let's be honest here man... Greg is done for the rest of this year, and he probably won't get back to this kind of shape for another year or so after that. So, we essentially just lost Oden for 2 seasons. That hurts. Will I jump ship? No...... but this hurts.

Not sure what the point is of the thread, but I hope GO gets well. That said, it has to be completely devastating to him and to the team right now.

Yes, please find a way to show him how much Portland, along with Oregon and so many fans across the internet of different teams too love and support him.

It's a broken kneecap, it's not like he had his legs amputated.

This isn't like MF. He doesn't have to keep the knee immobilized for months. He'll be walking on it in a couple of weeks. He'll be 100% by next season.

I hope you're right. Have they done a full workup yet though? Do we know the whole story or is this just the preliminary prognosis?

Enduring the jail blazer era and all that crap I've developed thick skin. This sucks on an epic level though.

He was 100% this season. The circumstantial evidence at this point says that the guy has brittle bones. There is no spinning this fact.

I hope the team takes this win, and the loss of Greg, as a bonding moment, and can rally behind it for the year.

how long has blake been out didnt he have a broken knee cap? or is this something completly different?

It would be a great story if we were to survive this through March to see Nicolas and Travis get back.. and make the playoffs and win a series.

The point is that a lot of quote unquote FANS on here a very negative and this is the type of thing that would make them jump ship. They were probably the same FANS that ditched the team when we were getting our ass handed to us. Those aren't real fans.

Um... HCP, this is a Blazer forum. We're all hard core fans here. You're not gonna see any of us jumping ship.

Some of us (like Me) will call for tanking the season and reloading with an even more stacked roster next year, but we're not gonna abandon the team, or Greg.

personally I sort of wish some of the on and off the bandwagon types would take up basket weaving or some other hobby

being negative has no effect on who's a true fan

Ah, I need to correct myself. It's Dr. Marcus Welby Nostradamus.

But weren't we hoping that by next season he'd be around a 16 & 12 guy? After an injury like this, his development is seriously set back. The guy has only played 81 NBA games going into what was supposed to be his 4th season. It's a long long haul for Greg to get to where we wanted him to be when we drafted him. Long haul. It's not like he was an established force who will just return next fall and start dominating.

.

Some posters have said that they are jumping ship, saying that they don't care about the team (and in some case, sports altogether) now that Greg is out.

shoulder injury

my one regret is that we don't get to see the new Oden against Bynum this season.

Being a smartass doesn't change the physical evidence so far in GO's career.

Something is wrong with him physically, and he's not going to be a once-in-a-generation center IMO. If that makes me Nostradamus, so be it. The reality is that the season is not over, and the team needs to focus on its next game, and how to win it.

They are called bandwagon fans. The same people who put you and me on ignore and call for us to be banned. :devilwink:

Oden's 21.

I wouldn't give up on the guy at all. He's got a long career ahead of him, even if it takes until he's 23 to get fully healthy and in shape again.

Second that. If you could, 'THE", let him know were behind him 100%, to focus on going forward and not dwell on this, and that we look forward to seeing him back on the court.
