Before you throw me under the bus, I would like to explain.

Miller, Roy, Fernandez, Webster and Oden or Pryzbilla

Webster gives a size disadvantage, but I think his quickness could cause problems in spurts for the opposing team. Use this in short spurts, completely trip out the other team. I think Webster is strong enough to hold his own on the post defense, with Oden or Pryzbilla helping him on the defensive end. All Webs needs to do is try to have the PF shoot over him, while Oden or Pryzbilla tries and blocks the shot.

Thoughts?

I dont know if I want Oden or Joel to have to account for another persons man on D lol

Webs has the energy to play PF. But he is too short.

Just reminds me of when we used to put Ruben Patterson in at PF at times. Only to have more slashers in the game. Also, Mark Bryant was 6'7" PF so it's not like it hasn't been done before.

LOL! Webster at PF? Dude should only play in garbage time.

Playing a PF role may help his game. It's going to be hard for the opposing PFs to chase him around on the floor. I think on the defensive end, they could trap a lot and benefit from this.

Compared to Travis, Webster is an inch and a half shorter (6'6 barefoot to 6'7.5) has a smaller wingspan (6'11 to 7'2) & he looks to be at least as light. If there is a small ball situation where he could adequately match up on D I don't see why he couldn't spend some time as the Blazers 2nd biggest guy on the court, but I wouldn't be expect that to be a regular look for the club.

There's a reason Webs only played in a handful of minutes last night, he looks lost on the court lately. At this point his exposure to the court should probably be limited to as little as possible until he starts making correct reads on offense and defense and stops throwing up ridiculous shots in traffic.

Absolutely not. This is, by no means, and answer and should get significant minutes. Just a way to switch things up a bit during a game. When shots were hard to come by, I think having Webs at 4 really helps with those stupid ass "ISO" that Nate wants to implement. Have Webs, Rudy, hell maybe Bayless is better all sit in the corners while Roy has the ball at the top of the key. Use your center to set a high pick and roll to the basket. Then as the D collapses, he can kick it out to a wide open three.

Good point about Bryant. But I recall him being a lot stronger\bulkier. But Martell isn't a toothpick or anything.

Energy for negative activities mean(s) shit. Webster run(s) around like an idiot sometime(s). Play(s) out of
control with his "energy".

Are you not from around here? [*insert windows paperclip* - Consider revising.]

Naw, instead lets put Oden and Joel in at the same time. Say Joel, Oden, Rudy, Roy, and Miller. Ya, I like that or if you want to go real big put LMA in for Rudy.

I actually like having them both on the floor at the same time in spurts. We could have used them last night when we couldn't rebound the damn ball.

I could see Nate implementing the 4 guard offense. It's not like he has a fucking clue how to take advantage of a good low post scoring threat.

I say we just play Martell at SF until he explodes.

I'm guessing you meant this in a good way, but I couldn't help but imagining Martell bursting into a blood strewn pile of gore, crushed under the weight of his mostly crappy play to start the season.

I think he's taken the advice of Nate a little too black and white. I'm sure Nate explained to Webs, not to be only a spot up shooter and use his athleticism to drive to the basket. Instead of doing that every so often, he's trying to do it, even when he has a wide-open three. He needs to be smarter on the ball. Take what the defense gives him. If they are giving him a lane to the basket, then go for it. But if the defender is 5 ft. away from you, then shoot the wide open J.

either way. sink or swim.
