Well...Quick says no "legs" to LEE trade and Roy is prob gonna play vs GS

Ummm....if you check his career, he was already getting these numbers off the bench with the same minutes for the last two years, it shows he was capably of this output before the coaching change...so using D'Antoni's system in this argument doesn't hold water.

exactly. you beat me to it

"No legs" means... what? It's not going anywhere? Or that it's entirely inaccurate?

Based on the reports, the Blazers are interested in Lee, but the Knicks don't want to move him. That might be entirely inaccurate or it might be true but have no legs.

:drumroll:

How the hell would Quick know? You think that KP tells him anything of substance? If he does throw him a bone, it's to throw everybody off the scent. The only info KP is giving is misinformation.
i agree. the blazers hate him and he doesnt know anything.

Meanwhile, an absurd trade rumor hit the Knick locker room Sunday. It said the Knicks, Clippers and Blazers were involved in a three-team, 12-player trade that would be consummated next week. A newspaper referred to it as a "report," but it actually was a posted comment on a Knick blog by a person claiming to have ties with the Clippers.

The deal had the Knicks getting Marcus Camby, Channing Frye, rookie DeAndre Jordan, Jerryd Bayless and Jason Hart. The Knicks would give up Quentin Richardson, Lee, Anthony Roberson and Malik Rose.

Knick president Donnie Walsh said yesterday, "It is a fabrication. I have not had any discussions on this at all."

The Clippers have shopped Camby.

i think KP wanted augustin or westbrook badly but only because he didnt think bayless would still be available by the time we picked. all the draft boards had bayless going to okc (#4)just days before the draft.

not accurate. following workouts westbrook's stock skyrocketed, and bayless' dropped well before the draft. leading up most boards had bayless 6-11 and behind westbrook. who knows, but i'd guess westbrook would have been KP's first choice.

i think if westbrook or augustin were on this squad or better yet if jerryd was on okc or charlotte a lot of people would have different opinions.

i think most (half-way sane) people here realize that bayless hasn't had nearly the chance to develop confidence that augustin and westbrook have had.

KP uses the media to his advantage, and I think has admitted to using it to putting smokescreens out there. I think there's a trade brewing, but one we haven't even considered yet.

Um, because he's a damn good GM who has not made a bad draft choice yet?

i seriously doubt KP was sitting there on draft day silently expecting roy to become a superstar and ammo a bust. he is a good judge of talent no doubt, but there's also some luck involved in how choices turn out.

how do you know KP wouldn't have if morrison were available at 6/7?
reports were that Portland had Adam rated way below that. I'm sure someone can recall the details exactly, but one of the main rating systems they consider had him as a mid-2nd rounder... I think it was developed by the MIT guy who wrote Bringing Down the House

so who is correct?????

j. quick who says this rumor has no legs.

ny media who says its in the works and needs a 3rd party.
is there a none of the above option? With their abysmal track records, why should anyone believe any rumor from either source?

Maybe Ben Mizrich had a hand in it, but Jeff Ma is the guy KP uses for that work.

On a tangent, KP said he had the first 15 picks right on, and was pretty sure of them 24 hours before the draft. He could be lying of course (didn't seem that way), but imo he got Bayless because that's when he'd have to pay the least to get him. I don't think Jordan in CHA faked KP out, or anything.

David Lee averaged a double double two seasons ago when D'Antoni wasn't there and he did it off the bench. He averaged 10 & 8 last year too. Also- David Lee won MVP of the rookie/soph game, right? He's a good player.

Playing 30 minutes a game. Would he play that for us? Not even close. His numbers are inflated under D'Antoni's offense, everyones numbers get inflated with D'Antoni.

He might play 15 minutes a game for us, so what is that 5 and 4? What is Channing Frye averaging in 12 minutes a game for us? 4 and 2. I wouldn't give up anything of substance for David Lee and his 15 minutes a game and expiring contract.

Sean Williams played amazingly in the rookie/soph game last year, is he a good player? Ask the Nets fans, I don't think he has done much of anything this year and they are pretty depressed about it.

David Lee IS better than channing frye, but that doesn't mean much when he would get 15 minutes a game for us.

correction... the rating system I referred to was developed by the MIT guy who lived the Bringing Down the House story... Jeff Ma.

Nick (NYC): Chad, what have you heard on this David Lee to Portland stuff?? Wouldn't Lee for Jerryd Bayless and a first rounder be a great deal for both teams??

SportsNation Chad Ford: Portland has interest in Lee. But honestly, Portland has interest in all of the good young players in the league. Kevin Pritchard is very proactive and likes to collect assets. The Knicks would probably be interested in that deal ... Bayless and a first rounder. The problem is, Portland's not offering that. I think they're not willing to give up that much for Lee. I think Lee will be gone by the trade deadline, but I'm not sure it will be Portland.

Funny how they think Bayless is available.

How are some people not getting this?!? His numbers are not inflated under D'Antoni if he was showing the same production before he started coaching there. Sure number's are going to change with the number of minutes played, but to say he's only putting up good numbers because of the current system is false. He was getting 30 minutes and putting up the same numbers, so that proves it's not the Coach or his system...Lee is a legit double/double guy..not a great player or anything, but given the opportunity he can put up the same numbers on many teams, not just under D'Antoni

So they way you can correct you statment is: Lee is getting his number due to the minutes he's playing. Which says something about his ability, not the system.
