I thought all this got fixed before 2000.
If I remember right, it had to do with the word size limitation in older microprocessors. You IT guys ought to know this better than me. What was the reason?

Nothing is going to happen. There are many systems in place on planes to help navigate. The only reason planes start dropping on the 6th is pilots commiting suicide.
