I don’t like this tbh. All the speculation of how Dame is going to fit in as a piece of this and we aren’t even talking about if Scoot was healthy.

Jrue is a legend but I wouldn’t expect him to have to do this 77 more games at this point in his career.

I feel like there's a disconnect between people being happy we got him and what I'm saying about him PLAYING LIKE A FREAKING ALLSTAR.

You guys are trying to claim a win for just liking the trade. That's not what I'm talking about.

I'm just going to point this out, I know it's only five games but this is how well he's playing so far:

Career high in rebounds (5.5)
Third highest assist average (7.8)
Sixth highest PPG average (17.8)

He's basically playing at the level he had during his last season with Milwaukee.

19.3 ppg
7.4 assist per game
5.1 rebounds per game

That pelicans series was rough, even though their team was legit. Jrue was a huge part of that, just like he’s been for every team he’s played for. Dudes a certified winner.

Jrue has been very impressive. I always said I greatly preferred having him on the team for this first season instead of Simon's.

His stats are elite but that's a 5 game sample while the Blazers have scored 130+ in multiple games.

Its funny because some fans here are so excited of having Jrue and Grant on the team at this moment. My reaction is hoping we can find a trade for them ASAP. I'm nervous as hell they'll regress at any moment. We don't need their contributions now like contenders might. Their contracts are the biggest on our roster and I don't see a position for Jrue next year with Dame and Scoot.

Now if we can't find a trade and are stuck with them, yeah I'm glad that possibility looks much more enjoyable than a month ago.

I’ll indulge you, Nate. I was tepid on the trade at best when it happened mostly due to his age, contract and the fact that he was coming off a down year.

If he were younger, the down year wouldn’t have been that big of a deal. But you don’t see it happen very often when an older productive player has a down year and then comes back to near all-star form.

Jrue brining a pro’s pro mentality and proven leader was the good part of the trade along with getting Simons out the door. That, I can say was the good part at the time. So, no, I wasn’t expecting him to look this good this year and I’m pleasantly surprised by how well he’s producing. He’s absolutely solid and has been our best or, at worst, second best player.
