What is up with the NBA right now?
there is some definite hate for the Nets right now: Sean williams wasn't selected for the dunk contest
and who did they choose instead?
Jamario Moon!
i am seriously pissed off

I don't know if you know, but Jamario Moon has some crazy hops. Sean Williams is a good in game dunker, but what he could actually do in a contest is limited. Just like Dwight Howard can't win. It will be between Moon and Gay.

I absolutely don't care about selection for dunking contest as long as Sean keeps improving his game and turns to be the one we (at least me and Jigga) expect him to be.

I don't understand the hate towards Jamario. I'm glad he got chosen because I'll finally be able to see what all the hype around him is about (he's supposed to be a very great dunker). And it's just the dunk contest, it only needs four participants. Obviously a lot of people will be left out

Wow...you guys have no idea what you're talking about. Sean isn't even a good dunker. Nets fans make me wanna gag.

He is a dunker...but not Dunk Contest material. It'll be like watching a skinner Dwight Howard.

Jamario is a former Globetrotter. 'Nuff said.

(I hate 'nuff said arguments, but more really doesn't need to be said to justify Moon's entrance. He's a better dunker than Sean. We're talking about a player who's sole job was dunking at one point compared to a Keon Clark sequel.)

I would have added Sean to the contest, but I've always been against limiting it to four players.

Word!

Welcome to S2 JGD! If you have any questions about the site shoot me a PM.

In all honesty I don't think Sean has dunk contest ability. Sure he's a freak athlete, and he's really only 6'8", but I haven't seen the dexterity and quickness necessary to pull off the crazy stuff mid-air in him. He can jump up really high and float (almost), but I don't see the guy throwing it between his legs anytime soon. I think Jamario is a great choice.

I could see Sean pulling off some (though not all) of Dominique's old moves. He's got that sheer explosive vertical that is breathtaking all by itself.

I would have liked to have seen Sean Williams in, but you can't really argue against Jamario Moon's selection.

Sean will almost certainly be selected to participate in the Rookie-Sophomore challenge, as I think Josh Boone should as well.

Sean isnt dunk contest good.

You should be pissed if he doesnt get selected to the Rook/Soph game.

Yeah I don't know why he's listed at 6'10." The next time you're at the game look at him during warm ups. He's about just as tall as Jefferson (6'8") and Boki (6'9").

^ Same reason as Charles Barkley being listed at 6'6...

Dunk contests have gotten boring IMO. Yes they have there week of sports highlights but we have passed the age of domination.

Would have been cool to see Williams try something with Carter but I'm just happy Nate isn't in it.

Also, Williams hops are just as good as Moons.

Sean williams is just a power dunker like amare stoudemire and kenyon martin. Moon may have a chance at winning.

Are you kidding? If theres one thing Williams has its a crazy vertical. We are all Nets fans I dont understand all the bashing on one of our brightest spots on the team. Some of you are saying he would be Dwight Howard in the Dunk Contest.. so wheres the problem?? Everyone thought that Dwight have amazing dunks except for the stupid judges. Plus he does have a former dunk champion on his team in Vince Carter and he can get some creativity from someone whows been there before.

You need to slow down and read.

Honestly Sean hasn't showed anything to warrant dunk contest entry. He's a power dunker similar to Kmart and looks to be a solid in game dunker. Its no big deal.

the dunk contest sux and guys like moon are the reason why. no name scubs who nobody gives a damn about.

^ Have you seen Moon dunk? I'm all for having Sean in the contest, but Moon has thrown down some ridiculous stuff.

moon and gay? vc at 30 would still win against those 2...last year, vc was still able to pull off a combination one-handed 360/statue of liberty type dunk on a whim during a dead ball in a game against utah...a moon and gay dunkoff would be like trying to find out who can dunk the ball the hardest through the rim...but moon would be a better choice than sean...gerald green would win though...

Don't crucify the contest because of ignorance. I will say that I think the Sprite sponsorship (and new age requirement) are keeping it from being something amazing.

Really, have any of you actually seen dunks my Moon and Gay? They're damn good dunkers, and you should get on YouTube and search for 'em.

I'd be all for Sean in the dunk contest, but I believe it'd be a moot point. I mean really, you guys think he'd have a chance at winning? Ever since Nance, judges have always been discriminant (for lack of a better word) towards big men.

I'm just glad Nate's not in it again.

That is probably the most stupidest comment I've ever heard.
Ever.
