I'm glad that deal didn't go down. I like Gerald Wallace, but I don't think he would've helped the Lakers much.

I'm higher on Odom than I am Jefferson though, and that's not saying much. Charlotte killed the deal because they wanted Odom. Looks like RJ doesn't have many suitors.

I think Odom would do better here than Jefferson. Odom is also a triple double guy like Kidd, and their styles of play would go well together. Plus Odom would become an even better scorer with Kidd running the offense and taking the pressure of him.

I honestly feel Lamar Odom would be a better asset for you guys than Richard Jefferson. I'm not saying he's the better player, because that's a whole different story. Lamar Odom is a better rebounder than Richard Jefferson, he is extremely versital, a great passer, and a pretty good scorer in the post. He can give you guys another option down low. Richard Jefferson, from what I have seen, is just a scorer.

Playing with Kidd will make him better and consistent. Plus Jefferson is as injury prone as Odom.

The reason why Odom isn't consistent with the Lakers is because he isn't really that great of a fit in the triangle offense. Both Kobe Bryant and Lamar Odom need the ball in order to be effective. Also, like Legacy said, Richard Jefferson has had some injury problems in the past as well

So do Kidd and Carter. If Odom can't be effective without the ball in LA, how will that change in NJ?


And trading away Jefferson, means our whole fast break attack is gone. Whenever we get out a run, Jefferson is the one ahead of the field, which usually results in easy points.

I can live with giving away Jefferson for someone like Jermaine, but I really don't see a future of with Odom.

You weren't even going to get him. It was a 3-team deal, and LA would have acquired Gerald Wallace.

Oh shoot, well the title is misleading, I just read the article. That is a horrible trade for LA. I wanted to sign Wallace if we could, but to trade for Odom? Would we have a PF if we traded Odom away?

Odom can't run in a fast break attack? Isn't that what Miami had during his tenure there? I'd take Odom over RJ any day of the week. He's a better inside presence, rebounder, and passer. His defense, although not the best, isn't bad. He's a 18 and 10 guy in the right offense (look at Miami), however, like Brian stated Odom isn't a triangle fit.

The reason why Lamar has struggled with the Lakers is not only because of his touches, but a combination of different factors. Lamar is not a good fit in the triangle offense, and the touches he gets each game varies depending on Kobe Bryant. Some nights Kobe will shoot a large amount of field goal attempts, and other nights he may not. This, in my opinion, confuses Lamar because he doesn't know whether or not he should shoot or pass in the offense. In other words, I think Lamar's still confused on what role he should play on offense.

I've watched a couple of Nets games (mostly playoffs), Vince Carter does not demand the ball as much as Kobe, and Jason Kidd is a distributor. I personally feel that Lamar Odom will have a lot of success with Jason Kidd running the point. But we're all entitled to our own opinions

Personally I like Jefferson more than Odom, but I would rather have him here than RJ.
