There's probably been a similar thread already but it crossed my mind so I thought I would start this anyway. Do you expect him to average a double double? Will he gain his footing and average 20+? Will he do something like 9 & 5? And do you expect more injuries? How many games do you expect him to play this season.

My answer to every question is I have absolutely no fucking idea.

Not that much because he's not in game shape and coming off yet another injury. I think we'll see Greg dominate the League next year, we just have to be patient with him and hope he doesn't rush back too soon.

If he can stay healthy I think he could put up a near double/double every night. In the short time we saw Greg he toyed around with every Center he faced in pre-season.

To be honest, not much.

Maybe a block here, a dunk there, a few rebounds (5-7ish). That's about it. I am setting the bar so low that there is no way he can disappoint me again.

Sad but true.

statswise, i dont really care - all i want is a game where he plays and walks off the court in one piece.

the next game i might have some statistical aspirations but as things sit at the moment, just some durability would be nice.

13-16 points, 10-12 boards, 2-3 blocks in 30 mpg.

Edit: I mean after a couple of weeks of rounding into shape.

I don't think a double-double is out of the question. If he can get the free throw shooting touch he had in high school, he could score 15 ppg without really breaking a sweat.

Assuming, of course, he doesn't break (or strain) anything else.

Ed O.

As of Jan 1st, I expect his averages to be under 10/10. What he does from there will be the interesting part.

i don't see any reason why the season predictions for oden should change after a minor injury.

initially he probably won't be in the best shape, but his overall season production shouldn't really drop from whatever it was going to be anyway.

A pony.

And if he doesn't bring me a pony, then I want, The Iraq, everywhere like such as and, South Africa.

I expect health and for him to be a defensive presense.

On offense i would like for him to get alley oops, drive and dishes for easy dunks and off. rebound dunks for about 11ppg and about 8rpg and 2bpg. That is what i'm expecting.

I watched the OSU vs Florida game last night... and WOW Oden is incredible. He is an amazing game changer and his offensive game is underrated.

Now that the election is over, I'm hoping for less campaigning for Obama and more basketball practice ... and I'm hoping that the only thing he breaks is a sweat.

8 pts, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks and a few disruptions would make me happy as a clam.

If he can do 20-25 mpg, it'll be a double-double. And we'll be thrilled.

Once during a college class in Fairbanks we were told to break up into groups and come up with a way to reduce speeding between Fairbanks and Eielson Airforce base... there were a lot of good ideas... more law enforcement... signs... etc... my group came up with raise the speed limit.

Set the bar lower for Oden and that is where he will jump.

I kind of agree with BD503. The injury is not as bad as I originally thought. The avulsion is on top of the foot -- not a load bearing portion of the ankle. It's just a matter of him getting into shape and playing through pain.

I expect him to take a month or two to get back in game shape - and to start and dominate after that.

Oden has not changed - he is still a beast, he is still stronger than most other players in the NBA, he is still quicker than many bigs and he still jumps higher than most bigs.

Anyone who is going to sell Oden short because of a string of bad luck is going to pay big. I hope the rest of the league has written him off already...

Double-doubles. Dude had 5 rebounds in one quarter on a bum ankle in his first NBA game. He's going to accumulate stats via his SIZE alone. But people put way too much focus into his stats. What is more important is whether the team will play better with him? Initially, I don't think they will.

Yeah -- but to be fair -- some of those rebounds were off of his own misses. I agree with you though, I want to see the team play well with Oden -- not just Oden get stats.

I want him to get into shape and get his explosiveness back. When that happens, stats will follow, and so
will the wins.

Right now he's still lumbering up and down the court a bit. He's not at the level he was at in college.
If he just gets back to his college level by the end of the year, we'll be golden. Then next year we'll
have a superior GO. If that happens, we'll be contenders for HCA.

20pts 20rbs 5bl 5ast.

But only if Sergio is his PG.

I think it totally depends on his health...If he stays healthy for the rest of the season, ROY is still his for the taking. He's still got a good shot at making that happen.
