I know it's not over yet, but what can make you look back at this season (outside of a strong playoff run), and think "that was a good season"?

Batum turning the corner and becoming a legit 2nd option?

Oden coming back and being healthy all season and averaging decent #'s?

Nate being fired?

Consistent effort from Wesley/Rudy?

other?

"and with the number one overall pick, the Portland Trailblazers select ... Harrison Barnes from North Carolina University."

Cho hires new assistant GM barfo.

Who is Harrison "Ford Bad News" Barnes?

Both of his knees would explode before the season even started.

Realistically? Oden. That's pretty much it.

Jesus, it's November.

True, but it's pretty telling just how they're losing games.

Vs Chicago, they were never in it. Vs the Lakers, they were never in it.

Vs OKC, they were ahead and then played like shit and lost.

Tonight they've pretty much been crappy all throughout.

How about fans not jumping over the ledge prematurely! Geez... it's depressing to read these boards after a loss or injury..

We don't even have a legit #1 option anymore.

That's true. I think trading for a #2 is much easier than finding a team to trade that #1 option type of guy.

LMA is really a #3 guy and trying to make him a #1 has been a disaster.

What would salvage the season? Something really bad happening to the Lakers.

Games in November count the same as games in March.

Yes, but we know a whole lot less in November than we'll know in March. So it's a little early to be writing the post-mortems to this season and deciding on what moral victories we hope for.

The main things I'm looking for, if team accomplishments aren't being considered, are:

1. Roy looking more like his explosive self
2. Oden returning before February, staying largely healthy the rest of the season and playing well
3. Batum playing starter minutes and improving on his performance from last year
4. Aldridge improving

Those 4 things are, to me, the crucial issues in terms of long-term ceiling for the team.

Ending it now, and re-starting it a year from now when all our players get healthy?

But seriously, Oden returning to full health and beastin it up would heal a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooottttttttt of wounds. And Nico developing as a star would be awesome too.

As I stop in here real quick...

Quick tweeted that the LA doctor said Oden's knee is healing correctly and will be stronger with time and that's why he's not being rushed.

As far as "salvaging" this season I'll let the regular doom and gloomers freak out about it.

Well, at least we know about Roy now, and hopefully can start planning accordingly.

Cho's got his work cut out for him. I wonder if he is going to make any moves to "salvage the season."

What kind of stopgap moves do you have in mind? Who are you willing to part with?

I can think of one guy. He's a rangy 6'11" PF who prefers to play outside of the paint and has only got 5 rebound in consecutive games.

Well, I guess Patty Mills, if it can get us CP3.

Edit: would be willing to throw in Sean Marks as well, if NO needs a sweetener.

If we trade Aldridge, who plays power forward?

Funny thing is, this is close to the mindset many Blazer fans have.
