I don't care what Tony Kornheiser thinks of me but whatever I do or do not become, will not be because I went to weber state. #RespectIt

Was wondering the same thing. Going to watch PTI on ESPN2 here in a bit. Will let you know if no one else can.

Concentrate on the Spurs, not Tony Kornholer. Twitter stuff like this shows that Lillard still has things to learn. The team did a great job of keeping silent for the most part (Mo Williams aside) while the Rocket players kept talking about how they were giving away games, were the better team, blah blah blech.

I generally go out of my way to not watch the opinion based shows on ESPN, so that will be a big help.

Basically, he isn't a star (yet) because no one knew him coming out of college and that portland is an outpost of the league. If we make the finals, he can become a star. Basically, it was Tony's normal Northeast bias.

I guess Paul George isn't a star either.

Dame fell into the old "I don't care about this, but I'm going to post about it" internet fail.

He might have been asked about it and responded... like the old "Should I know who John Canzano is?"

This.

The way porkchopexpress explained Tony's comments above, it just sounds like something we already know: historically, it's harder for players to get recognition playing on a team like Portland. And coming out of a mid-major college.

As long as he uses it as fuel to beat the Spurs, I couldn't care less.

+1 I don't see how this is a bad thing at all. I think Paul should pay news outlets to dish on Lillard not being a true all-star and Matthews just being a fungible role player. I would be money you will never hear either of those things said by a Spurs player over the next couple weeks.

He responded via his Twitter feed? I chalk this one up to Lillard being a young guy. It's actually nice to know he's not perfect yet.

I watched it live and korn was shitting on portland....never knew him like that, but it kinda pissed me off...

Dame got a 100M dollar shoe contract, in portland, so suck it korn

Thank you, internet hall monitor.

I don't care about your sarcasm, but it isn't very sarcastic. I care so little that I'm going to use it to motivate me to post better next series.

I'm glad I could korn your heiser on the subject.

Houston - "overhyped"

Dame a national star? Wilbon: Not quite. People knew Austin Rivers more than Dame. Called the biggest shot in the history franchise? Korn: Not yet. That is ridiculous. Wilbon: We've seen stars in Portland. If KD is a star in OKC, we can get a star in Portland. Korn: Portland is an OUTPOST. They play their games at 11pm eastern. Other than Bill Walton, they have had no stars. Adidas wants to make him a star. They gotta get to the finals for Dame to be a star. Wilbon: They got those people (malone, LT, CWeb) to be in the ad and he's not a star? Calls out the dick for his northeast bias. Portland is great. Korn: except when it rains, 300 days a year.

Ok then. Got as much as possible.

Highlights:

LMA is better known that Lillard- and LMA isn't a star

Isn't a star because he went to Weber State and now plays in the outpost Portland

Drexler wasn't even a star because he was in Portland

Only star to ever play in Portland was Walton

Lillard got the Adidas deal because Adidas is scared Rose will never recover and they want someone with the same color scheme they can try to make into a star

That wasn't the biggest shot in Blazer history because they won a title in 1977

Only way he will ever be a star is if he makes it to the finals

This douche pretty much just shit on all of Portland.

Thanks for the bulletin board material.

So, basically you're saying it still isn't worth watching ESPN outside of actual games?

Yeah, what the hell was that? Lillard hits the most memorable playoff shot since Ray Allen last year, and Kornheiser takes a dump all over Lillard, the Blazers, and the city of Portland. Who does he think he is ... Skip Bayless?

Wilbon was sticking up for all things Portland. Kornheiser is a DC guy who I'm guessing hasn't been to Portland since the Drexler teams, if even then.

I looked him up on Wikipedia, and he's from a town on Long Island that's literally smaller than Klamath Falls.

Around the Horn was on before that, 2 of the 4 said Paul Pierce's block was a bigger play than Lillard's shot. Just to go along with the whole avoiding ESPN programing.

Who even likes Kornheiser? PTI is a good show but they would be so much better if they could switch hosts to like SVP and Kellerman.
