Like it? Like his drive? Or does he come off kind of whiny?

I've thought about this a lot over the last couple of years, and sometimes he kind of rubs me the wrong way. I love how he plays and that 'it' factor... but I do see some warning signs of potential clashes in his attitude. He can sometimes come off as arrogant. But I would want him on my team, for sure.

I never get arrogant from him. He's being honest about being angry, kind of refreshing in the 'say nothing' era.

That's what made Kobe, Bird and Jordan legends. Everyone hated them and their arrogance, but you look back and have to admit that's why they were better than everyone else

I never get arrogance from Lillard. There is a fine-line between arrogance and pride or drive to be the best. Roy is a guy that I felt had some arrogance and whiny babyness to him. I don't feel like that about Lillard. Dude just wants to be the best and has the drive to be the best of all time.

The difference with that is that they were never really 'underdogs'.

Again, though, this is just for discussion. I love having him on my team!

I don't care. I want him to play well and if this is what it takes to motivate him, so be it.

Good post!

That's why Dame is so perfect for Portland!

Bird, magic, Jordan, etc all demanded to be top flight. Dame works just as hard and thinks he's good enough, but the media still don't get it

People say there is a fine line between arrogance and confidence but Lillard is one of the few people I have ever seen where that statement is true. He has confidence right up to that thin line of arrogance but I dont feel like he ever crosses it so I 100% fine with it.

Don't care. All I care about is how he plays. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to play well when he's emotional. I hope this snub sends him into a deep freeze, rather than a boiling rage.

Damion doesn't demand to be top flight?

I would love to put Damion in a Lakers uniform just for a day and erase the past just to ask this question again.

He has a real reason to be pissed, if I was the most important player on my team that is a top western team and I got left off the roster for a center on a shitty team I'd be blowing up social media too. In a world of fake outrage from people it's nice to see real emotion.

Wtf dude?!?! How long you've been a fan? Damion?????????

Anyway, the statement is regarding always being overlooked when he's been deserving. The others I mentioned played for big schools, drafted by big franchises and immediately were held to superstardom right from the gate. Pay attention!

It's debatable if he is the most important player on this team, though.

I guess I missed the part of Westbrick being the most important piece to a lottery team

Hey, it's a great thing to say that Dame is arguably the most important piece... that means we have two of them!

Not very debatable. When Dame plays well, but LMA struggles we still generally win. When LMA plays well and Dame struggles, we rarely win.

The snub on Lillard wasn't Cousins. That kid was deserving too. My beef is with CP3 or Westbrick

When dame and Aldridge play well, we usually always win. But the record without Aldridge says otherwise bro. Playing well isn't the only reason why you win. There were games when Dame and Aldridge played poorly and we still won.

The fact that both are in the game and demand that attention is why we have a good shot at winning every game

I love his pride. I love his drive.

But he needs to stop with the "if they don't put me on the all star team I'll really show them" and the "they didn't put me on the all star team now I'm going to really show them" talk.

Put up and shut up.

This is what I am referring to.

Definitely Westbrook. The fact that both he and Durant are reserves is bullshit. They've played less minutes combined this year than Lillard, and they aren't even a playoff team. Dame's an honest guy, and I like that he doesn't hold back. Cousins could have gone in over Durant and Damian over Westbrook. What really hurts is that Damian wasn't even the guy who just missed the cut, he was behind that guy.

Dame has complained to the Refs more this season.
Probably the best thing he can do is just go into the silent killer mode - he'd probably get more calls too.
In no way am i saying he is whiny though, just that he contests calls more than he used to - and I don't think that gets him any favors from the refs.

That being said, I can't see how anyone could have a problem with his attitude. He's a hard worker, a killer, humble, and a good role-model.
He ,also, comes across more genuine than some other 'Stars'. Less manufactured, a guy who truly put in the 'hard yards' to be where is, and didn't just win the genetic lottery.
It's this, along with showing thankfulness and humility, why he is so easy to root for, and I am so glad he's on our team.

His game has been off lately so hopefully he can channel this energy and get refocused cause when he struggles we lose.

I think if you're gonna talk shit, you better not go 6-20. Something isn't right with dame and he needs the rest.
