What if Thibs is available?

I think Thibs will be OKC's next coach. He's a great defensive coordinator but Chicago thinks he's played his stars into the ground and is not happy with his minute allocations on the roster. I'd love him on our bench in that role but not over Stotts

And surely you know that there is no way he takes an assistant coaching position anywhere in the NBA. He will be a head coach, if not OKC than somewhere else.

What if a coaching change is a condition for LA to resign?

Do they choose Stotts or LA?

Head coaches do become assistants again. It happens. Frank, McMillan, Gentry, Cheeks, among others.

Ah! Let's bring Luke Walton in as offensive coach and let him teach the lads the Triangle. He can take over when he's ready. Jackson and Kerr think he has got the stuff.

Yes, yes, and HELL YES!

I like Stotts, but I don't see him as a championship caliber coach. Thibs is a top-notch coach. I've liked him since he was an assistant coach for the Celtics.

And he's never had the talent a lot of others have had to work with. You might even be able to include Stotts in that convo.

If he is over playing his starters it's probably because he didn't much to work with.

Thibs didn't injure his players.

He played his guys less than Stotts plays the Blazers' starters.
I read several articles about this today and most concurred he had several problems with the front office including the firing if his assistant. Minutes were an area of contention between the two parties

You're a Bulls fan Denny..why would they have him on the chopping block?

You remember that time when we all bitched that Stotts played his guys too much?

Yeah. It'd be like that again.

In a heartbeat.
Thibs would bring some much needed toughness & defense to the team.

The Bulls are nuts to let him go. He should be first choice as coach by all but very few teams.

If Stotts does indeed play his players more, I would absolutely take Thibs. Look at what the Grizz are doing to us, we need a defensive injection.

Blazers had 4 guys play 33/game or more. Bulls just 2.

If you look at the Bulls history, guys like Noah and Deng who played 38 minutes for Thibs had injury problems all along and before Thibs was coach.

Jimmy Butler, a #29 pick became an all star, and many think Gasol had his best year with Thibs as coach. Noah played 38 last year and won DPOY and made all NBA 1st team.

Thibs has been hamstrung with weak rosters. He took a team with MVP Rose and Keith Bogans starting at guard to the ECF. He won 50 games with four starters missing about 20 games each.

I think he can win with girls. If management lets him do his thing.

Leonard will turn into an all star with Thibs as coach. Mark my words. He's already decent on O and rebounding. He will be a beast after Thibs teaches him defense. Like he did with Omer Asik.
