Is that for all practical purposes the Yankees will be able to obtain a goal of staying under 189. That the Arod and Cano money will be used to add 4 or 5 legitimate players creating better depth and a younger team perhaps. Kuroda signing is a plus, so now with Tanaka in limbo, we can move ahead, I would love Andersen from the A's although I don't know if we match up. Is Johan done? Is there anything left in an Old Blue Jays Arm? Is Pineda going to surprise, could Manny B finally put it together. All if's which is what the off season is all about.

2009 - Forearm trouble (did not miss a start)

2010 - Forearm strain (missed almost half the season)

2011 - Tommy John Surgery (made 13 starts before undergoing Tommy John Surgery in June)

2012 - Recovery from Tommy John Surgery (made 6 starts before landing on the DL with a side oblique strain)

2013 - Ankle injury (appeared in 6 games before suffering an ankle injury, later revealed to have stress fracture in his right foot)

Although I'm sorry to see the Yanks lose a terrific all around player like Cano but....I'm still kind of excited over this current "off season". Yanks now seem to be very much on target to bring the payroll under 190-200 mil while still putting together what looks like a very good team with a good possiblity of them adding a couple of more cost effective players.

I'd like to see them retain Reynolds to help fill out the part time DH/3B/1B depth from the right side and of course one or two "good" pitchers.

I believe this should put the Yanks right smack in the middle of the PENNANT race.
